Real question. Why does everyone assume that King will be any better with his extremely lackluster sample we saw this year? He may be but I didn't see it on the field this year. Perhaps it will be Calzada again or Weigman.

I agree with your sentiment that I want to see King at full speed ASAP, but I would have preferred to see him at full speed all year. We can't always get what we want. I'm with the rest of these guys, though. King's not being held out because of hard feelings. Injuries take time to heal. I want to see him at full speed when it matters.

Nothing about it was extremely lackluster. He moved the ball very well and two of his ints were extremely bad luck. His command of the offense was night and day game 1 vs Calzada after a year of playing. He may not be Matt Corral, but he's functional.

We had 600 yards of offense with King having 300 of it. Where is this narrative coming from that he had a terrible game? Go look up Calzada's actual stats. Like just look at the *********numbers. Good grief.

THIS! Haynes' leg should definitely be fully healed now. If not, it does spell trouble for the future and regardless Jimbo sure as hell better have learned from 2021. As no way in hell he gets a pass again for the same situation.

I too would love to see him. But Jimbo being a hard headed son of a gun and desiring to not cause further mental health issues w Calzada....no way he does it. And this mentality is a problem!!

Why not give him the start and attempt to head into 2022 on a very high note w a QB that has a higher likelihood to be a much better starting QB for us in 2022.

Sorry had to reply to this, too. EXACTLY. Calzada D suckers? Simply look at his freaking stats! Why in the world would you want to have him starting any future game when he has proven that he is a bottom of the SEC QB? We aren't going to win in any significant manner with any QB putting us these kind of stats. I don't care who his name is or how tough you may think he is. Just stupid to wish this upon any team you desire to get into the CFP and compete for the West and natties. Amazing to me.

Passing Efficiency? Zach is 91st.

Pass Completion %? He is 97th.

Passing Yard? He is 76th. Yea!!!

So we are talking about a QB not even considered to be a top 75 QB in college. While Jimbo is bring in a Top 3 recruiting team. This is who you think should start? We owe Zach NOTHING. Only wins matter at the end of the day and all of us should realize this loud and clear.

Calzada = Gator Bowl. What's the over/under on dropped passes and how many times he gets sacked?

Given our record, the only thing disappointing about the Gator Bowl is that we played Wake a few years ago.

You make a good point, but he may feel he already has the upper hand with knowing the offense. Is that kid definitely enrolling this spring? If so, spring ball will be extremely competitive!

"Hey Calzada you stepped up to get us here but now we're going to let someone else take over because this bowl sucks and we don't really need to acknowledge your growth over the season because you seem to have hit your ceiling already so we just need to plan for the future now. You risk losing the trust of the other players on the team if you yank Calzada now. Let him finish and then open up the competition in the spring and fall camp.

Nobody on here knows whether or not King's leg SHOULD be healed. Just because you want it to be doesn't mean it is. There is a decent chance it is healed and he is regaining strength. Or there is a chance he is cleared to play and Jimbo just isn't risking it. Nobody other than the folks behind those doors knows for sure.

I also second the notion that the people assuming King is no good because of one game last season have no ****ing clue what they are looking at. He was named QB1 for a reason.

I don't think he should start, but if he's healthy and wants to play some, why not? I get you don't want to throw him out there for the sake of throwing him out there. Tough call to make.

Fyi, Tibia is usually a year long injury. Dumb idea. Besides Calzada has started the vast majority of the season. Let him close it out.

Calzada 100% plays the bowl game. Seems asinine to pull him after giving everything he had this year. Let King heal up and get some practice in.

That hit me the other day. We had so much go wrong and was in the running for a NY6 until the last month. I'll take this as an down year over the crap I had to deal with growing up. That being said, let's go big next year.
