Jackie was 2-1, RC was 3-8, Tom Wilson was 2-0, Bellard was 1-2, Bear was 0-1, Stallings was 1-0, Norton was 2-2, Fran was 0-3, Sherman was 0-2 in bowls he coached though his team did win a bowl the year he was fired w/Timmy D coaching as interim, and Sumlin was 3-2 in games he coached w/his last team losing to Wake w/monkey enthusiast Jeff Banks as the interim HC

Just don't get where the entitled Ags came from the last couple of years thinking we are so high and mighty (we are 8-4 and not as good as some think). WF has a good QB and WR (tall) that will give us fits (esp. if we have the whole starting Jr/Sr DL sit out).

Everyone thinks we dominated NC last yr, but we didn't win that game until the final minutes of 4th Qtr (and NC had a lot of players opt out).

To bring this full circle....

When WF beat us in 2017 (55 to 52), isn't that when Coach Fisher was coming onboard (he watched the bowl game, didn't coach in it, and Starkel almost threw for 500 yds)? I recall leading by a couple TDs in 1st qtr and then gave up like 31 pts in the 2nd qtr (that vaulted Sumlin Def left over) and was embarrassing (amazed we came back to make it a game).

Wasn't Coach Banks the interim coach of that bowl game (fyi, think Fisher tried to get him to stay, but he decided to leave for Bama)?

West side (home) of stadium is the SEC side this year

Just the facts. The SEC did not do us any favors by putting us in the Gator Bowl at 10:00 am against a very good WF team. The attendance at our last Gator Bowl was abysmal and I'm sure that laid into their decision. WF beat us in a rebuilding year for them and they have improved a lot since then. The elitist zooists better not count this as a win or it will end up just like lsu.

Wake Forest reminds me of the type of team Elko can get out coached in. They can throw the ball. Add in the offense's ability to go 3 and out, could be a tough game.

That is amazing and sad all in one

The only intriguing game is Georgia v Michigan.

All other matchups are the worst I can remember.

This bowl season blows balls. Could have just given bama a bye, let Michigan and UGA play and then had a NC game and it would have been just as good.

the answer is both.

bowl games were very unkind to the program during the Big 12 years. The Ags were something like 2-9 in bowls from 1996 to 2011.

the SEC era pairings have by and large been much friendlier

in part because A&M no longer plays SEC teams in bowl games

They're relatively highly ranked so if we beat them we'll likely be flirting with a top 20 finish. That would be pretty good; I'm happy with this match-up.

This bowl game will be an excellent opportunity to prove ourselves against the 10-3 ACC Championship runner-up Wake Forest.

I would have preferred the Outback Bowl against Penn State. Oh well.

Well, I'm sure all the whiners who throw hissyfits at the mere mention of going to Houston will fix that by buying up tickets for their trip to Jacksonville. Right???

What on god's green earth gives y'all so much confidence that we can "manhandle" Wake Forest or anybody for that matter? Against every opponent with a pulse (except Bama), we have gone out every single game and laid an egg in the first half, given up big plays, then watched our qb flounder around trying to make a comeback. We sang the same exact tune for 4 games this season in games we were favored in and lost.

Add in all of our top guys probably sitting out, and I would honestly be worried about playing any team that is borderline competent. The Gator Bowl is more than we deserve this season. News flash: Nobody is scared of A&M this year. The formula is obvious for beating us. We are playing a team that actually went to a Power 5 conference championship. Be a little more self aware, please and show some type of respect for our opponent.
