It's honestly surprising that he stayed there this long. Has been pretty mediocre against OSU and MSU in his tenure.

I think he really wants to be there and was given more time than others to get it going due to his history with the program.

Far worse than mediocre.

So you're saying is in 3 years we can expect an SEC championship game appearance?

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try, try, try, try, try again for millions of dollars.

partly. My main point is many want to fire Jimbo as many wanted to fire Harbaugh.

If Michigan wins the Big10 championship game, which is very likely, they go into the playoffs as a number two seed.

It takes time to build a championship program

I don't think we would give Jimbo the same amount of time if he performed as Harbaugh has. If Jimbo were 3-9 against our 2 biggest rivals and 2-13 against top 10 team would we really give him 7 years before we moved on?

1 2021 11-1

2 2020 2-4

3 2019 9-4

4 2018 10-3

5 2017 8-5

6 2016 10-3

7 2015 10-3

Harbaugh record for sake of discussion.

Truly. Who can they get that's better? It's aggravating, getting several 10 win seasons and losing to your rivals 67% of the time but there just isn't a certainly better coach out there they can get.

"many" do not want to fire Jimbo. A few morons on this board, along with another handful of trolls just scream and cry like children when things don't go their way.

In 6 real seasons he's had, he's won 10 games 4 times.

If I were to guess, in his first 6 real seasons, Jimbo is going to win 10 games twice. Last year counts and probably 2023-24.

Those of you talking about next year are in for a rude awakening. We're going to have a freshman QB start.

Perhaps people are confused by your premise that everyone wants to fire Jimbo which is false.

Hey, you know that coach out there that we could win a NATTY with in 3yrs? Let's go hire him. Fire Jimbo. Can someone tell me who that is so I can read about him? Thanks.

I don't think anyone who matters wants to fire Jimbo. People getting their hot takes in on Texags are just noise. To put it more directly, I don't think anyone with enough money to pay for firing Jimbo wants it bad enough to pay for it, nor are they even close.

Lets not just talk about wins..

Talk about the competition #1 -- SEC West vs. that Big 10 garbage..

also, go look at recruiting rankings of Jimbo vs Harbaugh -- Jimbo is elite. It never happens overnight. You have to build. and build...each season is different.

Jim Harbaugh has proven to be an excellent fit for Michigan. In his 7th season, Harbaugh finally led Michigan to a win over Ohio State, an 11-1 regular season, and a Big 10 East division title. If Michigan defeats Iowa in the Big 10 championship Game, Michigan will make the College Football Playoffs for the first time ever.

Prior to this season, Harbaugh was 34-16 in Big 10 Games. He was 0-5 against Ohio State, and 4 of those losses were by 11+ points, including all 3 games at Ann Arbor in 2015, 2017, and 2019. The only close loss was a 30-27 2 OT loss in Columbus in 2016. Harbaugh posted 10-3 seasons in 2015, 2016, and 2018. Other than a 2-4 record in a Covid-19 shortened 2020 season, Harbaugh's worst season was an 8-5 (5-4 Big 10) finish in 2017.

Michigan demonstrated how it takes time to build a team that is good enough to beat Oho State and win the Big 10 East. Their patience with Jim Harbaugh has paid off. Under Jimbo Fisher, we have finally beaten Alabama, but we also must finish 7-1 SEC record to win the SEC West. Of course, if the SEC division realignments move Alabama and Auburn to the East and Missouri to the West, we would have an easier path to winning the SEC West.

If you think having a true dual threat QB wouldn't have made a big difference this year, you are NOT paying attention.

News Flash:

The Big 10 completely sucks ass.

Winning 10 games there is even easier than in the "Big 12".

They gave him the hometown-hero-history-played in the NFL-he got his team to the NFL Super Bowl-benefit of the doubt.

And he also won at Stanford.

But I wouldn't trade him for Jimbo Fisher. Even though he still has a ways to go, he's done more for "Changing the Culture" (as well as the Recruiting - in a big way) at TAMU than any coach since Jackie Sherrill.

Gig 'em.

Holding onto Harbaugh was the best thing Michigan did.

Honestly, his record is pretty good (outside of the covid year).

he's a proven coach that will almost always have Michigan in the mix

beating ohio st has not been easy because they recruit at bama's level

I don't want to fire Jimbo. I want him to be a HC after hiring an 21st Century offensive guru to be our new OC. If he does that, I give the rest of you permission to pay him millions more.

Likely cause he played there under Bo and loves the school. Plus all things change in college football.
