Threw this together while waiting on an updated Spring roster. My best guess is there are 93 guys still vying for a spot on the Fall roster which means 8 of these names will be gone by then. (More than eight Feb '22 signees have not reported so of course no problem with the 85-limit at this time.)

This is sorted by espn recruiting grade (I know, only slightly better than a random number generator). I separated the specialists since their grades are limited by position. (If there is a way to post this where it honors the column spacing let me know.)

I think the comparison was to a highly-touted recruit that didn't pan out 100% on the field. Highly doubt it was a reference to character.

the talent is raw but i think the ags are much better equipped to deal with the huge dl losses this year than they were the huge ol losses last year.

First of all, great post! Let's keep this one at the top, Ags.

Going through this list, I'm astounded how many scholarship players have been buried by younger talent and/or plagued by injuries. Just goes to show how much talent you must stockpile to win a natty. So much has transpired since we recruited these guys...

  • Will Luke Matthews and Baylor Cupp ever play an entire season?
  • Who is Kenyon Jackson???
  • At this point can we just make Derek Hunter a goal line FB, Warren Sapp style?
  • Bryan Williams -- I'm still scratching my head on this one. He was more highly-touted than Demani, but we know who won that battle. With Antonio on board now, will he become the Speedy Noil of our secondary?
  • Jordan Jefferson is still on the roster. Kenneth Phillips III still is not.
  • Will R.J. Orebo follow the path of Max Wright?

Kudos to Jimbo & Co. for keeping transfers to a relative low during his tenure. Speaks well of the locker-room culture.

Comparing Bryan Williams to Speedy Noil is beyond disrespectful. Yea he never had a huge impact on he field but it's because he had some health issues and has to stop playing football.

Demond Demas is Noil tier.

Edit to say, I should have listened to Jimbo's press conference before posting. Hez and Donnell Harris have medically retired. My bad!

I don't feel like these losses account for the crap we are seeing on the field. Kenyon Green huge loss but just one of five OL Wasn't that impressed with Jahmir Johnson last year but he did stick with the Packers. Spiller was great but feel like we've got plenty of talent on RB. I will say the weak link in these Top 10 recruiting classes has been OL (and of course LB).

Leal wasn't as good last year as he was the year before. Clemons and Tyree did bring the pressure which in spite of our elite DL recruiting is completely missing.

So yeah, lost some good talent but not enough to account for what we are seeing on the field this year. What makes the most sense to me is that Jimbo totally whiffed on the hiring of Addazio and Durkin.

Weigman is the only hope at this point. This team needs something to rally around and make them want to stay for another year and I damn sure can't imagine it would be the coaching staff. Never see a bigger waste of talent by a coaching staff nor a more under-achieving effort from the players than on display this season.

I was pretty pumped spring of this year. Now I'm resigned to the fact that it's never gonna happen here.

With this much turnover, college football really has been reduced to just cheering for laundry. You get the occasional exception like Leon O'Neal but for the most part these are just mercenaries and not people you have any real connection with, school or otherwise.

A couple of years down the road...

It was getting a little crazy going into 2022 but can you imagine trying to track this now? "transferred in for spring practice, transferred out after spring practice"....
