Yes. But also no.

I sure hope we are better next year, but check out a list of people leaving:
DC Elko (likely)
LT Johnson
LG Green (likely)
TE Wydermyer (likely)
RB Spiller (likely)
DE Johnson
DE Clemons
NT Leal (likely)
DT Peevy
FS O'Neal
PK Small
I agree with this. I would also add the slow starts to big games. We found ourselves down 10 points in the 1Q in three of our four losses. Immediately playing from behind when the other team is flying high with momentum just derails your game plan.W said:other than QB what other catastrophic injuries?Detmersdislocatedshoulder said:
Not sure I would put Elko in the likely pool. Yes we are losing some quality players but so does everyone else. You think ole miss won't miss corral? Or Arkansas won't miss 7 of 11 defensive starters who were super seniors? Our recruiting has put more 4 and 5 stars on our roster than any other time in Aggie history. We're about to sign a top 1-3 recruiting class. So I like our chances to improve next year. The one caveat would be catastrophic injuries like we experienced this past season. Injuries can derail even the best of teams.
and despite that catastrophic injury A&M still beat Alabama (11-1)
and yet still lost to LSU (6-6).
the bigger issue was the team's inconsistent performance...home vs. road

Offensive Line - improved (year of development for 3)
LT Zuhn 4* RS FR (Fatheree may slide over here and Zuhn goes to RT)
LG if Matthews come back Foster slides over, otherwise Ogunbiyi
Could also go Transfer Portal
Skill Positions - Improved
TE Can Cupp Stay Healthy? Does Stowers Develop?
RB Daniels/Johnson/Achane, all 4*
Defensive Line - Small Dip unless Turner is a beast like Leal
Adele/Burris/Harrisx2/Jeudy/Mowry all 4*
Shemar Turner 5*
DE
DE
NT
DT
Secondary - Improved (Year of development for most players)
FS - Harmon/Gilbert/Norwood all 4*, I know some are CB but I could see Johnson sliding back go S
Specialists - Even
PK - Small could technically come back because of 2020 right? Also Davis was the #2 kicker in 2019 class.

Why is Elko likely? I know he had been linked to Florida… has he been linked to OU or LSU?
That ain't no joke ... the older I get, the more I find it to be true, "Every football season takes so dang long to get here, and yet passes so quickly". I love it so much, I will always look forward to the next year.halfastros81 said:
Here's the good news, Jimbo reloads rather than rebuilds .
The bad news is we'll have to wait until next year to find out.

It all depends on starting qb.
240 yards, 3 TD and no INT with a 67% completion percentage (if youre receivers catch the ball) should have been enough to beat Bama. The fact that we lost with those stats tells me there is more amiss than JUST the QB.
But a great QB is a big step in the right direction.
Stewart's in along with Noah Thomas and Chris Marshall. Gonna have a group of very talented WRs along with a group of very talented QBs working with an experienced and talented OL. We'll lose some on defense, but with the young studs that have been backing up this year's DL and a better secondary and LB group.FarmersFight95 said:
This has been the unanimous thought at the end of every November collapse for the last 20+ years, but yet "next year greatness" somehow alludes us in the following year.
