Calzada will be slotted in as QB 3.

Likely King will start with Wegman as the backup. Let that sink in for those who think this is 100% on playcalling or Jimbo. Having a QB who can execute a game plan and execute those plays is key for success.

I would bet $$ on it

Nobody here thinks Calzada is a world-beater. Everyone knows he is mediocre. The frustration is due to a lack of adjustment in planning and play calling to adapt to Calzada's weaknesses.

The 3rd and 2 play call was a incredibly fitting way to lose the last game of the season.

King is starting over again and I'm not penciling him in as the starter.

And..... better execution in play calling possibly by an actual OC maybe?...and better execution in O line blocking (last night was awful)...and better execution in a receiving corp that catches easy to catch balls....and better execution overall in not making stupid mistakes and penalties that are drive killers in key moments...and/or when we see that there is no such thing for an A&M team to "start slow" or "come out flat".

It's not just on Zach. It's not just the QB. If King or Wegman beat out Calzada, they will need all the above to execute better or we will just wind up the same as we did this year. It's the team and coaching overall that loses games like last night.

Bet $$$ on it.

I would bet your wrong, hard headed no change Jimbo will start Calzada because of experience, I prefer your choice but jackass Jimbo will he-haw to another 8-4 or worse season

I would agree to a point. Maybe Jimbo already dumbed it down for Zach. Think about how vanilla the offense has been. Don't you think it was already dumbed down? The qb still has to make the play. I don't think wydermeyer was supposed to get the ball on the 3rd and 2. I'm willing to bet in this weeks' offensive film room that you will see another option he was supposed to hit.

"But it should have been a run". Yeah probably so but maybe the box was stacked and zach audibles? It is all the stuff you armchair qbs think you know what is happening but likely you are wrong.

Zach was never a run threat ever. So the defense keys on the rb all day. Run a QB bootleg with a 4.3 QB on 3rd and 2 and you convert 90% of the time

I do chuckle at those who think King is the answer. He is a faster version of Zach. Weigman is our future. Question is when does he take over? After how many losses?

We lose the 4th home/embarrassing November Bye week game in 2023 once the SEC expands so we need to upgrade the QB spot ASAP.

We know Jimbo will not deviate from Calzada, no matter what. All of the years of Mond and problems, he was the best QB available. Now get ready to hear it for a few more years on Calzada.

Please explain how you adapt an offensive scheme to fit a QB who is not the most accurate and doesn't really run well. I think we tried to run the ball as much as possible, maximize the short/intermediate passing game, and really tried to manage the game and rely on our defense. I would love to hear what else we could have done.

Anyone who blames Zach for any loss Is ignorant! How about making the receivers catch the freaking ball! He's not perfect but I'll back him any day for what he's accomplished.

What has King done to make you think he's better Zach or Connor? Absolutely nothing. Going into 2022 fall camp it will be a 3 way fight for the starting QB spot.

Amen. Those of you who say it's all on the coaching and that a lightning fast QB like King wouldn't have made a difference need to reexamine your sense of what makes a successful football play. King was the second fastest guy on the team, just behind Achane. No way we lose to Arky, MSU, Ole Miss, or LSU with King at the helm. Last night was not Calzada's fault. He passed really well and wasn't the reason we lost the game. King was the starter for a reason, though.

I think Zach will transfer. He can play somewhere. He's put on tape that he can beat one of the best teams in the country on a good night. It just doesn't seem like he has the skill set to compete in the "best division in ball" on a weekly basis and the pressure cooker that goes along with that.

It's an odd situation. He battled, caught a lot of criticism, and delivered our best win in years.
