Howdy ags
Picked up this ticket stub 1950 presidential cup from a Georgia alumni - Texas a&m 40 Georgia 20 - for my collection and heard a couple of interesting vague stories about the Aggie coach resigning in disgrace months after the bowl game - he got beat up then he didn't then it was someone he knew possibly an affair - very odd but thought y'all would enjoy the stub from the game

Have a couple of others I am looking for as well for my collection if anyone can help it would be appreciated-

1944 orange bowl ticket
1977 sun bowl
1981 independence bowl ticket
1989 John Hancock bowl ticket
2021 field pass/suite level or press pass for orange bowl

Thanks

This was the last bowl the Aggies would win until the 1968 Cotton Bowl

strangely enough finding memorabilia from the 1976 (1/2/77) Sun Bowl is fairly difficult.

maybe not as many folks went to the game since it was played on January 2nd.

better luck with the Liberty, Bluebonnet, and Hall of Fame from that era.

seems like memorabilia is sparse for the 81 Independence Bowl too

I've spent a couple of decades looking for an A&M pennant from the 1977 Blue Bonnet Bowl. Never seen one or one for Southern Cal (the opponent).

figured that the bowl didn't produce them for that particular year.

although they did for the games in the 80's and some in the early 70's

It didn't work out well the next year against Michigan.

I remember as a 12 year old being so pumped for that Michigan game. Back then most games weren't televised, especially not nationally on ABC.

Going completely from memory, I recall the Ags were 4-0 going into the game. A&M had an early field goal, we were either up 3-0 or only down 7-3 at that point. Final score UM 41 A&M 3.

I was one sad 12 year old kid that day.

Is John Hancock the only founding father to have a bowl named after him?
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

Unless I missed something I would say yes but the John Hancock was from the insurance company sponsorship. So kind of an indirect/happenstance naming that it is a founding day father.

I could be wrong though as Knute Rockne was a founding father of the forward pass and there was a bowl named after him.
