The Athletic posted some of their latest bowl projections and some of these make me want to barf...

Wake Forest/Michigan State in the Peach Bowl.... this would be the worst NY6 bowl of all time
Michigan/Kentucky in the Fiesta Bowl
Penn State/Utah in the Rose Bowl

They currently have A&M playing Purdue in the Outback Bowl...that's brutal.

If those end up being bowl games; we'll be getting an expanded playoff sooner than later.

Why would us vs Purdue be brutal? We aren't anyone to lol down our noses at any other team? Remember when everyone on here thought that playing Wake Forest and Duke was beneath us?

I'm sorry- nothing about playing Purdue is exciting to me.

In light of the fact that the vast majority of big games, rivalry games, and conference championships have yet to be played me thinks this list will change a lot in the next 6-7 weeks.

Hey they could be like ESPN and say we're playing the sips in the Texas Bowl

we beat Auburn, ole Miss and LSU, we get a nice bowl trip. If we don't, get ready for the trip to Tennessee. As for the bowl match ups with the B1G, no one knows how that is going to fall out. Someone was complaining about Michigan State, their last five games are brutal. Michigan, Purdue, Maryland, Ohio State and Penn State. All they need is a game with Georgia. The B1g is really back end loaded this year, and November weather can play havoc with passing attacks. Unless we get hot and LSU beats Alabama, it's looks like Alabama and Georgia will play in ATL

If we don't want to play Purdue, we shouldn't have lost to two mediocre teams in Arkansas and Miss State. That being said, bowl projections change every week. We need to take care of Auburn and Ole Miss, and we will keep moving up to a better bowl.

I'm down with playing a Big 10 squad. Bring it!

Way too early for this. A&M has a lot of meat still on their schedule so anything is possible.

As a Utah alum, I would be very surprised to see the Utes in the Rose Bowl. Toughness and dominance just aren't there yet. Utes are a young team and their win over ranked ASU was because ASU is undisciplined. Utah has certainly improved from a sluggish start and have a good qb now, but we just aren't playing at the level expected of P5 champions.

I don't think we've played Purdue since we played them in the Cotton Bowl (stadium, not bowl game).
Hargett hit Stegent right in the numbers for what should have been the winning TD. Unfortunately, they were the numbers on his back.

We'll be playing Georgia for a berth in the Orange Bowl or Cotton Bowl Dec 31 or Sugar Bowl Jan1.

Auburn is beating Bama. We just need to keep winning.

What always cracks me up about that annual prediction is that the media views us as a B tier program and texas as S tier, so telling texas they'll be in the texas bowl is really really insulting. It just shows that deep down they see how terribly underachieving tu is.

Yep. I bet there is an exec at ESPN, the Athletic, CBS Sports, Yahoo, etc.. that says, "Let's roll a bowl projection out there. These fans will click on anything with their school in it. Don't spend too much time on it as we'll roll another one out there in two weeks. In-between, do some mock draft projections."

I get this really weird feeling that you're right. The way Auburn is improving, I've got them up to about a 40% chance against Bama. On the flipside, Auburn is looking like a big challenge to us, we have struggled to curb running QBs this year until we get a big hit on them and hurt them (Colorado and Arky) so Matt Corral will challenge us, and you know Coach O and his seniors want a huge win in their last home game. November is an absolute gauntlet, but we know we can beat anyone.

Just like when people complained about having to play NC State in the Gator Bowl after complaining about never getting a Florida bowl.

Like others have said, there is a lot of football left to be played, any bowl matchup right now is just a wild a** guess.

Getting beat in Oxford is a possibility.

Losing to SCar or Auburn in Kyle or LSU in Baton Rouge would be awful.

Jimbo would be 3-1 against LSU and finish with a 9-3 season with a possible 10-win with bowl win.

That would be continued progress and Top 10/15 final ranking.

True. Probably the only two people in America who would like this matchup is my Aggie sister and her Boilermaker husband.

It is our right (since joining the SEC) to slaughter an injury-plagued ACC team that is missing their star player. I expect nothing less this year.

I'll go ahead and say it - we are ABSOLUTELY someone to lol down our noses at Purdue.

However, Outback is a good bowl.

I'd take it over the Texas Bowl against Baylor, which is another projection I saw.
