Yeah it took Chizik two full seasons at Auburn.

Everyone says "the recruiting takes care of itself" about LSU and thus, it's an appealing job. That's kind of a half-truth. When all your talent comes from Louisiana (as it does with LSU), what do you do when there's a talent gap at a position in Louisiana? You don't have those established pipelines elsewhere to fill that gap because you let the recruiting take care of itself.

Look how hard Jimbo has had to work to develop the Philly pipeline. He's kept the Florida pipeline and strengthened the pipelines in-state. You build all these pipelines so that when the really big-time players come along, you've got some geographic coverage instead of praying that they'll come from Louisiana. Having all your players come from one state/area can be both a blessing and a curse. Others have commented on the character issues with LSU teams, but I have no idea if it's worse at LSU than other schools. Can't comment on that with much authority.

I am not really worried about Jimbo leaving on these grounds. Ostensible character issues, and he'd have to rebuild his recruiting pipeline JUST as he was about finished setting up his recruiting pipelines here. Our fans are also a lot less ******* crazy than LSU's.

LSU is going to come after Jimbo hard, and I'm sure he'll at least hear them out. In the end it doesn't make a lot of sense because LSU is going to need him to leave for around the same pay because I'm sure we would match whatever they offer, AND Jimbo just spent the last 3 years building this into a team that can compete with Alabama and I can't imagine he would want to play against that very team he just built every year.

If JFF(2) goes to LSU, no big whoop… Life goes on…

Just pull out the checkbook and get the next big name…

Plus… Jimbo and Woody have already had communication… That, I can promise you…

But (sorry), there is some solid benefits to being LSU head coach. Recruiting being the major plus that comes to mind.

Think about it.

Coach O literally failed his way to HC of LSU and then won the Natty. Failure after failure, then boom, Coach Yaw Yaw (look it up if you want a laugh) wins the Natty.

I'm not saying he takes it. But Jimbo will look at it, and scratch his chin about it for a little bit. That said, I don't think he goes.

They simply do not have the resources that Jimbo has access to at A&M, they're dealing with investigations, and job security is an issue there that he absolutely doesn't have in aggieland

There are also some pretty significant disadvantages. O's installation was a political fix. O had to support the governor's reelection bid. Les Miles got fired 4 games into the season after competitive losses in Wisconsin and at Auburn, after finishing 16th the year before.

That place is a mess. They have title 9 scandals swirling and there are questions about whether they can pay a new coach enough.

My only concern is that "Gumbo with Jimbo" has a real nice ring to it, and would be a great name for a mid-week radio show hosted at one of the local Baton Rouge watering holes.

There are zero questions about whether LSU can afford to pay a coach. Football runs that campus and every decision they make. Heck they are paying Orgeron 9million a year and are about to buyout his contract.

There is also no question about the amount of money we have and I'm confident we would match anything Jimbo gets offered.

Rico's friend is the PMT producer Hank who is currently in Baton Rouge.

I am as much of a Ryder as a person can be, and Rico doesn't miss.

Firing him on a Friday would make more sense for firing for cause if they want to scapegoat him for all the children's hospital stuff (meaning they wouldn't have to throw down on his buyout)

If LSU hangs on to beat Florida, they might have a good shot at reaching bowl eligibility. I can see them winning one more SEC game against Arkansas on 11/13. That means LSU could be 6-5 by the time we travel to Baton Rouge. I hope we win in Baton Rouge for the first time since 1994.

LSU has been unpredictable. They started the season with a 38-27 loss at UCLA. They lose to Auburn at home for the first time since 1999 and got crushed 42-21 at Kentucky. That's why Florida was a 11.5 road favorite. This is the 2nd year in a row that LSU defeated Florida as a double digit underdog, This is the 2nd year in a row that LSU defeated Florida as a double digit underdog, but last year's 37-34 win at Florida was far more shocking because Florida was a 23.5 point home favorite and had previously won 6 consecutive games by 11+ points each. LSU has won 3 straight games and 9 of their last 12 against Florida, losing only in 2012, 2016, and 2018.

A week ago, many people, including some LSU fans, thought LSU was headed for a 4-8 season. With a 49-42 win over Florida, Coach Ed Orgeron has cooled off the hot seat, at least temporarily. LSU could reach 6 wins before the Texas A&M vs LSU season finale. Their most winnable SEC game remaining is a home game against Arkansas on 11/13.

For those who follow LSU, why are they having so many injured players and only able to roll out about 50-55 scholarship players?

Are they soft, poorly trained or unlucky?

LSU seems to be a perfect place for Gruden's comeback.
