What's the opposite of rose colored glasses?

I'm not at all saying we win both but we can absolutely compete with Ole Miss if we play anywhere close to last weekend and LSU is garbage this year but will likely play us tough like always.

It's not impossible if we win out, but we would need numerous teams to stumble just the right way for that to happen.

We make CFP if we win out & Bama loses 1 more game.

If we lock in, we've got the ability to win out.

From there, we also need another Bama loss. My likeliest guess would be Auburn in some Iron Bowl shenanigans. That gets us to Atlanta as SECW rep, where we would have a tough showdown with Georgia's defense.

Manage to win that game? No way we are out of the final-4 in the committee's eyes.

how the kentucky fried F is LSU a loss?

They've lost all their playmakers, Coach O is on the way out and they're looking for a scapegoat to point at and show "see you can't beat the Ags sorry Ed you're out"

Ole Miss isn't a loss either - matt corral and lane kiffin are good, sure. but no match for elko.

Nope. Too many top 10 teams ahead of us with easier paths
If we won out, and Bama lost one more. Yes, we would absolutely be playing Georgia for a spot in the college football playoffs.

But those are two big IFs, and still unlikely at this time. Lets see what happens. Not worried at all about the rest of the country. Those two things happen, and we play Georgia for a spot in the playoffs.

You just can't help yourself. No game "is a loss". We literally just beat bama, and you are still spewing this crap? You can't even concede that we have chances in these games?

Ole Miss will be very tough, but as of now, we would be favored of LSU.

Exactly. The road game at Ole Miss is our toughest remaining game. By the time we head to Baton Rouge for our season finale, LSU might drop to 4-7 and already eliminated from bowl eligibility. Ticket prices for the Florida vs LSU game on Saturday have dropped below $50. Four of LSU's five next opponents are ranked in the Top 25, including home games against No. 20 Florida, No. 17 Arkansas and No. 21 Texas A&M. Tickets for the Arkansas games are going for as little as $35, while the Thanksgiving weekend contest against Texas A&M is $45.

2 loss SEC champ Aggies will get in over undefeated SMU. That is poop slap guaranteed.
How you figure we win SEC? I think the idea here is that we make the CFP.
Bama would need to lose again and Arky/Miss St would each need 3 SEC losses.

Well, we really just need 5 things for it to happen. 2 are very unlikely, but 3 are very likely.

1) Win out. Probably the single least likely, statistically. But you play the games one at a time, so just see what happens.

2) Bama lose at least one more. 2nd least likely, they tend to lose once and get better.

3/4) Miss State to lose 2 times

5) Arkansas to lose once

I personally think 3/4/5 will happen, and am not really worried too much about Miss State losing 2 out of 6 games (Bama, @Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Arkansas, @Auburn, Ole MIss still to go) or Arkansas losing 1 of their 5 (Auburn, Miss State, @LSU, @Bama, Missouri)

It's bama losing, and us winning out that are the hard ones.

The good news is, with the round robin of Miss State, Arkansas, and Alabama all still having to play one another, you get at least 2 of these 5 guaranteed. Probably 3 of the 5.

If we win out and Bama and Arkansas both lose one more game then we're in the SEC CG. (Bama and Pig are playing each other so one will definitely lose that one.)

If we then beat Georgia and win the conference there's a decent chance, but as many've already noted we'd need some help in the form of other currently undefeated teams losing.

Here's the deal, the only way TAMU goes to the CFP is by winning the SEC Championship game. That is the only feasible possibility. So let's beat Mizzou, that will put us one step closer. The margin is slim here and there is no room for error. But Georgia ain't unbeatable, so don't try to sell me that horse junk.

This is improbable but not impossible. The first thing is we'd have to do is win the SEC.

Ags must go undefeated the next 6 games - 9.4% chance per ESPN FPI (8% on 538 but part of that simulates if we make the CCG).
Arkansas has to lose one more - 97% chance this happens
Miss State has to lose two - 90% chance this happens
Alabama loses one - ESPN has this at 52% chance but part of that 52% is them losing to Arkansas or Miss St. Assuming they win those two it's a 33% chance they lose a game.

That gives us a 3% chance to make the SEC championship game. Assuming we're playing Georgia we'd be underdogs so put our odds of winning the conference at 1%.

An 11-2 SEC champ with wins of Georgia and Alabama gets in over
- 12-1 Georgia
- A one loss conference champ from ACC, Big 12, or PAC
- A one loss Group of 5 Team
- A one loss Notre Dame or BYU

Barring catastrophe Big 10 gets one in and Cinci goes undefeated. If a Big 12 team goes undefeated (this could come down to Bedlam) they are in. That would leave SEC champ, SEC runner up, PAC champ and ACC champ. Wake Forest is the only potential undefeated from the PAC or ACC.

The two biggest hurdles are the Ags going undefeated and Bama losing so let's focus on Missouri for now.

That's a great analysis. I'll take three times out of 100 any day if you give me Jimbo Fisher, a hungry team and a grackle.
