To dominate the first half, to get dominated for the next 25 minutes, and THEN to dig deep and find it within themselves to fight back and claim victory…THAT my friends is what defines character in this team, coaches and program.

Agreed. Down but never out for sure. Those guys fought for us, for each other and for Aggie pride.

This character was also alluded to in a post last week about "Leadership."

Think the character could be seen in the players Sticking together, supporting each other when times were Real tough the last couple of weeks.

Proud of this team.

The Key is to keep our foot on their throats and not allow ourselves to be dominated for 25 minutes….

Don't forget that the refs were furiously helping Bama get back into the game during that 20 mins lull. Obvious late hit/personal foul no call and bogus defensive delay of game calls ring a bell?

Don't forget some of the clear holding that was taking place by their OL for all the nation to see on TV not getting called.

Ok seriously, they were all debating if it was targeting and NOBODY mentioned the freakin helmet being ripped off by the Bama defender. How is that not a penalty?!?

It was mostly facemask to facemask. But, yeah, Bama got a call reversal there that few teams would get, due to everything else about that play.

Sure, that's always the goal, but the reality is that against Bama/UGA/Ohio St level teams you need to be able to weather their counterpunch. We did that in spectacular fashion on Saturday.

The refs definitely favored Bama. It is amazing the targeting penalty that was not assessed. Holding on our receivers, etc.

The SEC needs to move its headquarters out of Birmingham. It is like Washington DC with all the democrats occupying major jobs in that area. The rest of the nation suffers.

Back to the original point…. Yes! This team has amazing character. And it's kinda dumb making a statement like " just dont let yourself get dominated" by the best program in the land. Thats exactly what we did by the way from the opening kickoff.

No, the key is to have the character to deal with adversity. This team has it in spades.

It's clear now that what this team was dealing with in both the QB and the OL was plain old inexperience.
As Jimbo said post game- "you just gotta have time in the saddle…"

I love this team!

That is the key, the major key if you will. Unfortunately even the Bama's and Ohio State's of the world have a hard time with that every once in a while.

that may apply when you're facing a weaker opponent. We did NOT let up in any way shape or form. The D continuedto play great, but Bama was stillable to convert (barely) numerous 3rd downs that kept long drives going.

On flip side, we jad a few passes/catches that went awry or weremissed by inches that killed our drives (plus Spiller injury). Never saw the "let up" that you see sometimes when you get a two score lead.

Would like character plus consistency. Hopefully the rest of the year shows that. Was lacking prior to bama.
