Dickey is the co-architect of this offense. Jimbo brought him in to install RPOs. They design the plays together. They design the game-plan together.

Dickey runs the offensive side of practice.

He is a good tactician. Most with his skill set would insist on calling plays. He has cardiovascular or someother serious health issues. Probably the only reason he was willing to go somewhere and not call plays.

A CEO must make good hires and ensure quality control. After Kliff, most of his hires were bad. The alums twisted his nuts to hire Chavis and twisted his nuts again to hire Jim Turner.

Sumlin was a poser who fronted like a CEO. He was really just a position coach with a good line of BS. I hate him b/c of his arrogance. Same with Fran, except Fran truly drank his own Franaid. Sumlin drank other things.

And I dont have a problem with an effective play-calling HC. Jimbo is. Sherm was not.

Jimbo seemed to care more about developing Calzada than winning the game. That was what was so frustrating. Jimbo should have been calling gap runs. Heck, Kenyon was good enough to reach his man. We could have run gap stuff to Kenyons side and then playaction off it. Jimbo should have treated him like a 1-read QB. Put the training wheels on. Get us out with a win. F his feelings!

I feel like a lot of the playcalling issues we are seeing stem from that exactly. He wants to develop Calzada, because he knows we will need his arm at some point. He's probably trying to give home confidence by putting it in his hands and maybe some team magic gets made. But we still need to try to win the game
