Will either side of the SEC this year be decided by the new forfeit policy announced yesterday?

For those unfamiliar, the team that can't play due to a COVID outbreak takes an L and the team ready to play gets the W. No make up games. If both teams have COVID outbreaks and cannot play, both teams take an L.

I sure hope not. I'm praying for a healthy season and beating Alabama, LSU, etcetera on the field of play.

Better than make up games. It's a lack of players available to (safely) play so a forfeit is appropriate. What will be interesting is if the rules for who can play change during the season.

Time to get A&M's top sorostitutes infected and ship them to Tuscaloosa the week before the Bama game.

How will a COVID loss affect the CFP committee's decisions?

Say an SEC team goes 10-2 with 2 COVID forfeits. Will the committee treat them as 10-0? Will they say, "yeah they're 10-0 but we've seen them play 2 fewer games," even though that didn't matter last year when tOSU played like 6.

This is when the alliance would come into play. For an SEC team they would be treated as losses. Other would be treated as "meh".

Yep. Texas A&M would be considered 10-2. Alabama would be considered 12-0

A forfeit to Michigan St will probably hurt a lot less than a forfeit to Ole Miss.

Don't worry, that little ***** Sankey is way ahead of you. There is already a caveat in the rule that says a team can be given a "no contest" instead of a loss under extenuating circumstances.
