Devil's lettuce and some sort of controlled substance. Guess his NIL funds can pay for his bond. Hope he remains with the team.

Not an attorney but PG 1 is opiates, meth, coke, etc.

If we know anything in TN, it's felonies.

Googles says PG1 CS 4 to 20 grams, 2nd degree felony in Texas with potential 2-20 years in prison and possible additional fine up to $10K. Not good.

That's unfortunate for him & the team. Hope there is learning from this situation.

Just a starting DT, no big deal.

Kind of thing that seemed constantly happening under a previous coach. Was hoping the "process" would prevent these kinds of outcomes. But perhaps an outlier and gives Jimbo the opportunity to instruct on how this is a betrayal of fellow brothers in the locker room.

Weed is a schedule 1 controlled substance. I doubt he had anything on him but the <2oz of weed.

It's most likely a THC vape pen.

That's a felony

Understandable, no excuse not to know the rules and abide by them

At the same time, assuming it's just some weed and nothing more than that, it's ridiculous that we ruin people's lives over some grass.

Maybe you guys can keep it quiet. The Knoxville and UT police run straight to the newspapers with our knuckleheads.

And I think this is more than weed. 20k bond? For weed? Maybe that's Texas but it's not normal in TN. One of my grands got hit with a little less than a half ounce and got a 3k bond.

20,000$ bond is worrisome in TN for simple weed possession.

Why do some people on here always bash the police when they are only enforcing the laws on the books.

If you don't like laws that make weed or meth or any other drugs illegal...then start a grassroots (pun intended) movement and petition the Texas Legislature to change the laws.
Stop bashing the police.
If these players are stupid enough to knowingly violate the law and stupid enough to get caught...then let them suffer the consequences...it will be another great teaching opportunity for Jimbo.
Stop blaming others and take some personal responsibilty for yourself.
Oops..i forgot...these younger woke generations don't want that.

He will need a very good lawyer and willingness of DA to reduce to lesser charge.

Putting meth and weed in the same category is a stretch, but that's a separate conversation.

What I'll say is this, police have way more agency in these instances than you're giving them credit for. While I understand your point that the legislative body is ultimately the change agent here, police are well within existing legal precedents to be able to choose how/who they investigate and/or stop.

Sounds like a great idea, someone should get on that.

Oh wait, it has happened. Over 90% of Texans actually support reduced measures in one form or another for it. It being legalized passed in the house. It wasn't allowed to reach the senate. The people want it changed, but the politicians like the lobby money too much.

A lot of laws "on the books" are not enforced. That's a stupid argument. Minor possessions of marijuana is a laughably stupid law and so is anyone who enforces that.

I'm so woke! /rollseyes

I always think it odd that aggies run to the message board to amplify these incidents.

Inability to delay gratification.

The law is the law. Wait until you're not getting paid (in one way or another) to go to Texas A&M university.

This dude has more to risk than Average Johnny Plano Whiteboy. Why is he not able to obey the law?

Doesn't look like weed is the problem here. Jackson had a lot of promise and I hope this works out for him but I don't think this one will be swept under the rug.

Every place that has more than 7 dildoes is an illegal brothel, according to Texas law. When are the police going to start rounding up the sororities?

If any silver lining this happened in August 4+ weeks from the season opener to allow others to get reps, assuming there is time missed for him. Imagine the meltdown if this occurred week of Bama game.
