Move the SEC Championship Game to Dallas

With OU and Texas joining, the balance of power in the SEC should move West. The largest viewership will probably be in Texas, so we should push to move the SEC Championship to Jerry World. There's no doubt that Arkansas, Missouri, and LSU would be in favor of this. The Mississippi schools might be in favor too, even though it's not really closer (but would increase their brand in the state). If they're going to force Texas and OU into the SEC, we should start demanding more conference events take place in the state of Texas.

That's exactly what tu and OU want. To fundamentally change the SEC and destroy it.

Well, Jerryworld is in Arlington, so perhaps that would be a better site.

Wouldn't mind it rotating between Atlanta, NOLA, Dallas, and maybe one more city (Nashville?).

But this exactly what the sooners and sips are planning to do. Go read the threads on the Dirt Burglars Football board. Read the threads on the surly horns football board.

I expected the arrogance and hubris from the sips. Didn't expect the sooners to be as equally arrogant and power hungry to remake the conference to their liking.

(Oh and the sooners don't GAS about Okie Lite.)

That's exactly what the SEC deserves for letting the cancer in. I say let's help give it to them.

Im with you OP.

This would benefit Texas A&M and fans as well. SEC wants this...lets give it to them.

The events of the past week should tell you that we should only worry about what's best for A&M. Forget conference unity. That's gone. The championship game in Texas is what is best for A&M and its fans. We should push for it.

Why would we support Dallas when we can have it in Houston instead? F-t.u. and F OU. We do what's best for us from now on.

First of all, why would Missouri or Arkansas care where the SEC Championship game is?

I do expect we'll end up rotating the championship game between Atlanta, Dallas, and New Orleans, though.

If we end up with pods and a conference semifinal, then I'd bet those three cities will be the hosts, rotating the championship game.

I'm pretty sure an attempt will be made. And we will support it. And Arkansas because Jerry. Include rotation with New Orleans and Nashville, LSU, UT, and Vandy probably support too.

Honestly, if this is what everyone else wants so bad, not sure why we do much to stand in the way of giving it to them.

It's already Bama's second home so I'm sure they wouldn't mind either

The SEC contract to hold the game in Georgia ends in 2026.

Not concerned with where it is played as long as the Texas Aggies are playing in it. And win.

Sit down and go sit in the corner. We don't let teams with losing records sit at the big boy table.

OP forgot the part about hiring a lackey commissioner that primarily serves tu. B12 part two. Always loved strong arming the B12 into moving the BB tourney to Dallas where it had no local support.

In all seriousness I think rotating the game between a few locations is a good idea, but there's a risk there too.one of the reasons the stadium is always full is that you have a central location, and tickets are renewable each year so the holders keep them. So moving it to a far flung place for many schools, like Dallas (Imagine a UF Auburn game there for instance), and either starting the annual renewal process over locally or giving it to the people who already hold in Atlanta runs the risk of empty seats, which the league will do anything to avoid.

Plus there are all of the events surrounding the CCG in Atlanta. It's not just a game day trip. Rotating the game will inevitably lead to a dramatic change in the atmosphere surrounding the "game in Atlanta."

It will absolutely switch to alternating each year between Atlanta and Dallas. Will be couched as making it more equitable to West division teams, but we will all know it is t.u. pulling the strings
Rebel Yell

It will move to Dallas soon enough.

But that is further down on Texas wish list.

They have to sow seeds of discontent first.
