The only way that could Possibly happen imo is if their revenue share were withheld until it's Paid back.

The SEC league office isn't sitting on a pile of hundreds of millions of dollars. It distributes most of the money it receives to the member schools. So if the "SEC" paid tu and ou then it'd have to come from the member schools. That's not happening.

ESPN/Disney could pay ou and tu's fees, but why would they spend that much money when they could just wait a couple years and not have to pay anything? That's a lot of money wasted. Not happening

whats going to happen is Texas and OU pay their respective buy outs and then in order to start in 2022 , espn will say ok let them go to the SEC and we won't reduce the payout you guys receive until negotiations roll around.

My guess is there will be no exit fees to pay when the "BIG12" disappears as schools leave for other conferences.

I have it on good authority that Mexico is paying the exit fees.

Why would the big 12 not just move to add uh, UCf, memphis, byu, etc? If for no other reason than to collect their $150mm.

Really know if that is going to happen at this point.

ESPN owes Texas $160 mil for the LHN so they can definitely work out a deal for Texas to bolt quickly. Maybe OU asks Texas for a payday loan on that deal. Plus if ESPN pays the buyout and Ou/Texas bolt early the rest of the Irate 8 may bail quickly to other conferences and ESPN gets out of paying 370 million a year for the next few years

B1G rejected the idea of admitting OU a decade ago when the sips were flirting with conference-hopping, just like the SEC told OU they could come, but couldn't bring Okie Lite back then as well.

Not true. They have a 1/15th share and they keep some kind of reserve fund. We know because they advanced payments this year against the post-2024 new deal with ESPN.

I believe your numbers, but are you staring at the amortization including the escalator or calculating off the colloquial top number of $300 million??
