Are there any other two universities whose relationship is so acrimonious as A&M and tu? I cannot think of one. Most of the ones I think of are just good old good natured rivalries.

Lafayette and Bucknell, if you count lower divisions, in terms of total years

Apparently there is a no small portion of the sip student body that hates their own school song, so we have competition. The sip interest in the SEC move is best understood as a desperate attempt to boost a dying brand and fix their football woes over the last decade.

Is there really any excitement their fans have in moving to the SEC? I haven't seen it. IMO it's best understood as waiving the white flag and copying A&M, a decade too late. sips know this is a weak desperate move.

I'd much prefer our rivalry be with LSU, much like OU and Texas have their thing.

Even if we play Texas every year, the narrative is that Texas needs it and we don't necessarily want it.

Hate is a strong word, but the Texas-OU rivalry is quite intense.

Lot of rivalries with hate.

Sure it is. The only time you ever hear sips talking about OU is the week of the game. Funny how hard sip fans rooted for OU(their "real rival") in the 2013 Cotton Bowl. Some rivalry.

Yup. People forget how Alabama spent so much time in the early years trying to shut down Auburn that it resulted in them not playing for 40 years.

And Bama refused to play the Iron Bowl in Auburn for the longest time afterwards.

Arizona and ASU hate each other pretty bitterly, it seems to me as an outsider.

Our cross division rival South Carolina. We have a trophy thats never left College Station to prove it. If South Carolina ever wins what do you want to bet they cant find the thing.

It is not a rivalry unless we are competitive. I would love to say LSU, but we have been lacking except for a couple of times recently. Same with Alabama. Good thing we didn't change the fight song when we first joined like some wanted to do.

The Texas A&M-Texas rivalry is fierce, but I like to think that it wouldn't go so far as actual tree killing.

Trees on the horn's campus have been cut down and used on Bonfire. Sure they weren't famous trees but that is an example of an "actual tree killing".

If you cannot think of one, then you need to check out college football as a whole more. For instance, try checking out the Ohio State and Michigan rivalry. Ohio state may have had an upper hand for a very long time now, but they're still hating Michigan and they're still willing to say that Michigan is a hated rival.

This is only one example too.

Ohio State - Michigan. There's way more hatred in that one than us & t.u. It's not even close.

I think the A&M tu rivalry is the most fierce. Both schools hate each other but still reluctantly collaborate with each other out of respect (yes tu thinks A&M is a strong academic school regardless of what some tshirts say), standing amongst and benefit for the general Texas population, and the $$$$$$ they bring in. Even though I don't like the sips; the A&M tu rivalry is much more sophisticated and respectful than some red neck idiots in Alabama

I member ten years ago listening to sips talking about how they never really considered A&M as a rival. OU is their "real rival" and othe sip talking points when we left the B12.

I don't know how you judge such things. All I know is that it is hard for me to believe that anyone hates their rival more than I hate t.u. I hate everything about them and always will.

I hate tu! I wish it no longer existed. I start off hating people that went to school there until they prove to me that they aren't a-holes. (I do the same thing with Liberals and Democrats).

I know it is unhealthy and I have issues but this how I feel.
