I dont think some people realize the negative long term impact of allowing texas and OU in the SEC will be. I understand the confidence of having Jimbo Fisher as a coach but he is not going to be here forever. It is very hard to hire a coach of his caliber as we know from experience (and texas for that matter). Since we have been in the SEC our recruiting has improved while texas has been lacking some. It is hard to hear but Texas will most likely over take us in recruiting if and when they are in the SEC. Too many people are willing to sell our #1 advantage over or rival for some extra cash or the idea that we can start playing again. Allowing texas into the SEC will not benefit us...at all. If it would benefit us they would not be trying to get it in. They want in because it will help them more than it will help us. This is the truth.

Many schools recruit well in Texas and always will. My point still stands. Why get rid of our number 1 recruiting advantage over our close rivals?

This is what we were excited about when joining the SEC, in the big xii we were surrounded by much more successful programs historically to recruit against. Lsu, ou, tu. We had nothing to offer recruits but getting our asses kicked yearly, that changed with the sec, l and now we're back to having jack **** to offer compared to their histories

We just need to win. Coaching staff matters most, and I'll take our situation over theirs right now.

Tu can't pull the same **** they did against the Big 12 schools. Every single school that wasn't under tu's control left both the SWC and Big 12. You're talking about a school that doesn't even support football just money. Hell, South Carolina is 10 times louder the DKR has ever been.

Our greatest advantage was JFF, Heisman, and the new facility not the SEC during the past 10 years.

It's a done deal. Accept it. And know we can compete. In modern Era, tu and A&M have even winning %.

Texas has recruited very well the last 4 years. Their 2018 - 2021 classes have ranked 3-3-8-15 per 247.
A&M has ranked 17-4-6-8.
What they have failed to do is coach up all that talent they've recruited. That won't change just because they have an SEC patch on their jersey.
And as bad as they've been with that talent, the level of competition is going to get much harder.
Where are they going to improve?
I wouldn't worry about them much. There's a damn good chance they go from losing 4 games a year to 5 or 6.

Exactly. And you can't tell an official in the SEC the stadium is too loud when on the road and then get your way. I wouldn't be surprised if Texas backs out of even considering last second without any control.

This guy gets it. Conference affiliation has suddenly become less important cuz of NIL. Our ability to generate cash will be the differentiator.

I thought it wad because we would be playing in the best football conference, playing the best teams, and getting much more money. Thats a pretty damn good advantage. I think a lot of people are missing the bigger picture here.

Everything before 2021 is meaningless now that the NIL is in place.

The only difference between College Football and AAA baseball is the baseball teams are attached to cities and College football teams are attached to Universities. Basketball will be the same way.

Soon these kids will no longer have any academic requirements. They will just be hired contractors who can change jobs any time up to five years. I bet they expand that to six.

I know someone is going to say something like 'they have it easy, don't go to class, have tutors etc.. already'. Yea but they still have real college experiences and while some just stay eligible many still get very well earned degrees. Those days are over too.

Imagine being a college professor trying to fail a kid making $100k a year to catch footballs. NO chance.

Academic requirements coming out of high school will soon disappear as well. Pretty sure you can work at A&M with just a GED. So all of those recruits that never qualified will have no problem suiting it up for the home team.

Do you know what no recruit has EVER said??? "I came to A&M because during the years that the dip**** druggist attended A&M, they never lost to the sips!"

NO ONE, INCLUDING RECRUITS, GIVES A **** ABOUT YOUR GLORY YEARS AT A&M!!

Lastly, if the rumors are true, the SEC leadership were a bunch of chicken****s that conducted a backroom deal with t.u.; you know, the type of deals that t.u. is known for!! We're pissed at the complete lack of transparency and respect by our conference; we've chosen to complain about it on a message board, but we certainly don't need your condescending "coach speak" about facing adversity, blah, blah, blah. We're venting AND now plotting; get out of the way with your holier than tho attitude. It seems to prove to us that you're a MEATHEAD!!

1. We are national now..
2. We have outrecruited tu in the Big 12-2-2 before.. They will gain momentum, and surely make the move loud, but we have a MAJOR headstart. tu might not break where we are at currently for MANY years with a sec schedule. This could be fun

Over time, and a short time at that, NIL will be a bigger shift than this. But yes, it has been a major advantage and this particular one goes away because the school who laughed at us, now wants what we have - not only the widening gap in SEC money but to neutralize our advantage.
