Vanderbilt generally abstains from votes, so it shouldn't be 13-1. My curiosity is if they are gonna offer us any considerations in scheduling, pod setup, etc for running this through despite our objections, or if it really is just straight shooting us the bird and saying deal with it.

Nope

Or people with integrity. The scales are off of our eyes and we should proceed accordingly.

The board seemed pretty convinced a couple days ago that some schools would vote "no" to letting Texas and OU join the SEC.

What happened?

Go back and listen to the interview with Bowen Loftin. The SEC leadership is not the same as it was 10 years ago. Mike Slive is gone and has been replaced by Greg Sankey. Sankey brings an entirely different mindset. The SEC is no longer a gentlemen's club made up of an association of equals.

ESPN is the driving force behind this change by virtue of having television rights to SEC games and ownership of the LHN. The change they are promoting is a win/win for the network. It brings two flagship teams into the conference they televise along with the opportunity to jettison the financial albatross LHN. And Sanky is all too glad to orchestrate a secret backroom deal to bring it about. What the member schools want is of no consequence.

It ain't gonna be like it used to be.

Probably the best, most sober post I've read today.

Reality?

Pretty sure the vote will be 13-1 in favor.

If our leadership vote against it it will be an all time cry baby move.

I am listening to the Dan Patrick Show while reading your post and it all just hit me.Sankey, by doing this, will become the Commissioner of College Football within the next 5-7 years and will be appointed by Disney.

BAS + ESPN exacerbates the jungle's confidence. In the SEC there is no such thing as a no vote. There are only "not enough money yet" no votes.
Aggie Football is only played for 2 quarters, choose wisely.
