Two 8 team divisions, 9 game SEC schedule. There are no permanent cross division rivals, you play your 7 division mates every year and two cross division opponents. The pod system would be a disaster when it comes to the conference championship.

My only concern with pods is being stuck in a "Big XII". I rather enjoy playing the rest of the SEC currently and don't really want to play OU and tu every damn year. I'm not worried about the competition, but I like playing other SEC schools more than them

Pods suck. If you need pods your conference may be too big.
And if you are going to do pods, why not alternate new pods every year? Not fair to whoever is in Bama pod for instance. That is the case now but might not be in 5 years. Rotate or no pods please. Try to keep competitive balance as far as possible.

We agreed to play Bama every year when we joined the league.

We do not agree to play either tu or the land thieves every year. There's a huge difference.

Pod system works perfectly if 20 teams not 16


4 pods of five....you play each team in your pod and one other pod every year...9 games

so say we have a North pod, South, East, West for example

in year one North and south play each other...west and East play each other ...best record from North South goes to championship game against best record from West East

play two years that way home and home

the in year three North Plays West and East plays South

etc after 6 years you will have played every team outside your pod once at home and once away



problem with this is getting to 20 teams

Play 11 conference games. 7 in division, 4 in other division so everyone sees each team every other year.

Top 2 from each division go into SEC playoff. Winner declared national champion.

Pods usually require 9 game schedules (3 pod games 6 out of pod games). The SEC is not going to set up a system where there are 9 games, 2 postseason rounds, and 4 college football playoff rounds plus non conference games. Theres not gonna be teams set up to play 18-20 games

They have A&M in a quad with Ole Miss, State & Arkansas. Said you wpouldn't have to play Texas until the third year and you do one game at home one in Austin, Basically throwing you a bone for Texas to join.

Pods are dumb. And if we get put in one with OU, tu, and Arkansas just call it the Southwest conference.

Why? Really bad for revenue generation and no exposure for those games. Think of a year where you play those teams and Kentucky/ Tennessee, OU plus 3 non conference cupcakes. Trash schedule.

I saw a pod breakdown posted a couple times yesterday that was the "least bad" scenario. We were in a pod with LSU. MSU and OM. The sips were in a different pod with OU, Arky and Mizzou. If we stick to two divisions, we will inevitably get stuck with the sips and OU.

each year A&M's pod will play another pod. The other 3 pods will be loaded. Get to pick from:

the OU-t.u. pod
the UF-UGA pod
the Bama-AU pod

there's going to be plenty of meat on the conference schedule every year

LSU will be in a Quad with OU, Texas & Mizzou. Thank you have enjoyed Texags.

Best case for us in order:

1. SEC remains at 14 and BDF is the sips next victim.
2. SEC expands to 24 and secedes from the NCAA becoming NFL light. All games are conference and there are playoffs for the new national title.
3. This stupid expansion happens but Aggies are in the Ole Miss, Ark, Miss State pod. Sips and ou join LSU and Missouri pod. The new teams should have 1 powerhouse SEC team in their pod and LSU would be perfect.

Here's an idea:

SEC leaves the NCAA and brings in another 34 schools for a total of 48.

Divide into North, South, East, and West divisions.

6 team playoff each year for SEC Champion.

All other NCAA schools then send their champion for an annual "Mega-Bowl" College Football Championship.

Am I the only one that thinks this is just gonna make the SEC teams beat the crap out of each other even more so than already?
