Half the US thinks Democrats are great at governance because they OWN the media

The only reason people think tu is a relevant program is because they OWN the Texas sports media

It will be "All tu, ALL the Time" in the media

This is being portrayed as "SEC wants tu and OU"
It really is "SEC - PLEEZ SAVE US FROM TOTAL IRRELEVANCE"

Surprisingly, OU is STILL tu's butt boy

I don't know why OU is following them around like a little puppy dog. They have a much better program. OU could/should have made this move without sippy

If you believe the reports, OU made the decision to leave the Big 12. Previously, Texas and OU had agreed to work together, so in this as OU goes UT goes. The financials probably make it no-brainer.

One way or another, SEC or not, the Big 12 is history.

Yeah I wish that the Big 12 could last forever, but the Big 12 was going to be the first conference to collapse with the next round of realignment.

Screw all that.

It's time we throw our weight around. We should threaten to leave the conference. We can go back to the big12 and actually make something of it. Invite UH and SMU back and maybe even invite Missouri, Arkansas and whoever the hell else would join and run the show.

We need to quit pretending like we can't do things on our own. Hell I'd even prefer to go independent like ND than put up with this garbage.

No sir.

The landscape of college football is absolutey changing right now. Like it or not, with the addition of OU and Texas, it will be the axis of college athletics....

This is the arms race...and A&M can't afford to leave it.

For the same reason A&M left the SEC is the same reason it should stay.

OU should have been whipped into irrelevance a long time ago, only by the grace of tu's fantastic mismanagement of their resources, coaches, etc are they not an afterthought.

They would get more money if the deal goes through, which is what it's all about these days. But the easy road to the conference title/playoff is over and middle of the pack status seems more likely.

Be honest with yourself; A&M loves being in the SEC because of all the positives associated with membership (visibility, stability, etc) and ESPECIALLY the recruiting advantage it gives us versus t.u. and OU. However, if t.u. and OU join the SEC, the conference benefits we enjoyed over those two will be watered down &/or the recruiting advantage might all but disappear. Such considerations, along with t.u.'s cheating history AND the possibility of backroom dealings without our knowledge is why we're so pissed right now.

STILL, returning to the Big XII is not a viable solution; if that conference provided benefits even remotely close to the SEC, then t.u. and OU would be staying there instead of shopping around!

BUT, I do agree with your overall sentiment of "revenge" if our SEC brethren ****ed us over; thus, if A&M along with other SEC schools allegedly screwed over by this nightmare can threaten to join the ACC, PAC or BIg10, such might cause the SEC to flinch. Should such action be viable, then I'm all for it; in fact, I'm for whatever it takes to keep t.u. not only out of the SEC, but also to continue its downward trajectory towards languishing in obscurity.
