Alabama better watch their back. When the Big-12 formed Nebraska was one of the biggest and baddest teams in the nation having just won national titles in 1994 and 1995. They were one of the bluest of the blue bloods in the sport. When Texas arrived at the merge of the old Big-8 and the SWC four, Texas led the charge to create new rules that effectively neutered the Cornhuskers. They've never been the same since.

It will be glorious to watch occur. BAMA doesn't play the power game nearly as well as 'sip does.
Bama is going to be so surprised when they beat Texas year after year, yet Texas will still take over their conference.

This is what the SEC doesn't understand.

Ketch is on the Bill King Show (longtime college football guru based in Nashville are) pretty regularly and generally sounds pretty reasonable in that venue. He was on there yesterday to discuss this, admitting he was caught off guard as much as most everyone.

I think the most likely problem is that the Oklahoma and Texas legislatures are going to look hard at the consequences on OkSU, Baylor, TCU, and Tceh as G5 schools.

Maybe OU and Texas make $10-20 mm more, but those other schools might end up earning $20-30 mm less.

Either way, I think the Big 12 is dead.
