We moved to the SEC to get to a conference that valued us and treated us on equal footing. This behind the back stuff with the sips we see right now is a big reason we left the Big12.

Yeah, I get money is good...blah blah blah. But we helped make that money and so did other schools in the SEC not named Bama, Florida and LSU. We (and others...looking at you Arky...you wanted to go Big12 not too long ago) could look at the ACC, B1G, PAC and get the attention of Fox and ESPN for that matter. And it would really screw up Sankey's super conference vision.

Not saying I want to move but why wouldnt we look around while Sankey and the conference go behind our backs?

Nobody has gone behind anyone's back. All we know at this point is that Texas and OU are interested in joining the best conference in sports (that A&M is part of) and have reached out. All premature in my opinion.

As an A&M fan I'd be completely flattered that Texas and OU were trying to emulate what we had going on.

What options? This is the best conference by a mile. There is a reason the sips want in.

This person obviously doesn't understand how one goes about becoming an SEC member. Not saying there haven't been discussions going on but this done deal 6 months ago is off in left field in my eyes. We'll see how it unfolds.

They didn't say it was done 6 months ago. They said it has been in the works for 6 months and current status is almost done. If true basically means Sankey has been working on this without really consulting programs despite the advanced stages of its development. Pretty pathetic display of leadership.

There are some rumors this morning that Mizzou might be in contact with the Big 10.

I wonder if that will have any effects on all of this.

They play a level of poker you southerners haven't seen and once they approached or had discussions and SEC engaged them which clearly they did, it was game over because Texas plays with a loaded deck. It's done and I for one as an Aggie will resent the SEC and it's members.

If this comes to fruition, I can't even fathom the amount of hatred and ill will it will create toward the conference and its other members. If you thought there was bad blood in the SWC, you ain't seen nothing yet.

The conference will be unrecognizable in 10 years . . . And the changes will not be good.

We came to the conference because of its greatness, and we wanted to contribute to what is good about it. That is not going to be the attitude of the horns. It is not in their nature. Their attitude will be to exploit that characteristics of the conference that benefit them and change the parts that don't.

You may THINK that they won't be able to change the conference, but they will have ESPN behind them. That's why they are getting their way right now.

Let's explore other options. The SEC will be the Big 12 in 10 years.
