In summary, Texas has a superiority complex that is not well supported by performance, they would not fit in the SEC, and it would be a real breach of good faith if the SEC lets this happen. I love Loftin and his candor.

"There would be a lot of anger on the part of the Aggie community," he said. "It certainly is ironic -- and that's a very mild word for it -- after all of the verbiage directed against us trying to discourage us from [going to the SEC], and then beating on us after we did it, that really is interesting to have that school come back and say, 'Oh, we want to join you now.'"

Quote:

Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz, a relative newcomer to league drama in his second year as the Tigers' head coach, joked Thursday at SEC media days about the rumored interest of Texas and Oklahoma.

"We're the best league in college football and everybody wants to play there, and now you've got two iconic brands that want to join too," he said. "It's an exclusive club and not everybody gets in, so good luck. Especially if A&M has anything to do with it."

Unfortunately, the people keep dying.
The "gentlemen's agreement" is going to be lost.
We're going to need to put Loftin in a DeLorean and send him back to 2011 to get everything said with video.

Seriously, our stance should be hardline, as there is no need to be diplomatic in this circumstance. Be unapologetic about the "no" vote, and aggressively promote it in a public and individual manner as needed.

That's why I find the whole thing amusing. I will have no problem stating this to sips no matter what takes place. It's comic gold!

Yep, we need to push rejection as far as we can, I'd go as far to say that we shouldn't be civil about it either.. By then end of it we want the sips in the SEC only after they've joined and poisoned every single other conference at the collegiate level, and even then say no.

Is Ken Starr still unemployed? Need to get him on the phone, he was good at getting complaints ready fast. I don't know where the Baylor that was a pain in our ass went. 2021 Baylor seems pretty busy rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic while they watch "Fixer Upper" reruns.

Texsa is having a hard time meeting expectations. They are in a cream puff conference. tu and OU hate their schedule of teams nobody wants to watch. The stands are half full. tu record over the past 9 years is barely .500. tu fans are bored. Their players fail to develop even though they have their fair share of blue-chips. Tu is wallowing in a cesspool of mediocrity, while proclaiming their status of blue-blood from back in the distant past. Their network is a complete and utter failure. More eyeballs? ESPN lost what, 48 million for their gamble?

Texsa needs the SEC. Texsa needs ESPN. To fix the mess Texsa created by their own making. Considering our past dealings, I do not want to throw them a lifeline with a Yes vote. Hopefully Bowtie's gentleman's agreement will kick in. Unless our conference members word is no good.

Bless Dr. Loftin for telling it like it is (and like it was at the time) and reminding people exactly what happened and what the attitudes were. Although a lot of folks remember, there seem to be just as many that don't. The powers that be at A&M are really the ones that need reminding along with the other schools that will be voting.

If this has been happening in the background it means that Sankey backstabbed us and thinks we'll be grateful for the additional money. If the deal has made progress that means they've been working with the SEC office without our knowledge or consent.

The more I hear and the more commentary I read, the more it confirms Dr. Loftin's statement that tu has a high opinion of itself, which all the Old Ags knew but the rest of the SEC evidently doesn't believe. Everything sounds like "what Texas wants, Texas gets" and you might as well just bend over and accept it or get out of the way. The rest of the SEC needs to give some credence to the old adage that those that refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And while we are talking in old cliches, zebras and tigers don't change their stripes.

Adding a school on the East Coast from a state with no current SEC members would be more logical, Loftin said, especially if conferences are moving toward having 16 teams.

"You could argue Texas and OU are big brands, but we already have a presence in Texas. Why do we need that?" Loftin said. "OU maybe is a better argument, but I think there's a lot of logic and sensibility toward thinking about another team on the East Coast in a state where there's not an SEC school in right now."

They are uber arrogant. Remember when they explored going independent? They actually think they are a national brand like ND. Also, they have two bands because so many won't play the school's song, they hate guns and hold protests with dildos. They are not SEC ready or worthy.
