I was curious and visited the other SEC teams forums and no one seems to be supportive of taking tu/OU.

They seem to be somewhat open to OU but no one wants Texas.

They seem to mirror our discussions here.

And they all agree it would be screw job for us.

I hope this plays out this way.

I don't have much hope though. Money will win out in the end.

I'm willing to bet there are almost zero SEC fans that want this.

But the money will probably win. It ALWAYS wins.

It seems to me that adding t.u. would increase the saturation of TVs in Texas, but it would not add another state to the geographic footprint. I do not know the calculations on which would bring in more money, but I would think that would be a primary consideration.

Also, Dr. Loftin said he sleeps very well at night (paraphrase) regarding t.u. ever getting in to the SEC. There was much speculation about A&M joining South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida in a "NO" voting agreement to block any schools from any of those 5 states from getting into the SEC. If such a cadre actually exists, that should me no t.u. in the SEC.

I'm looking forward to reading more facts and thoughts from all of you.

I've looked on a few sites; I wouldn't say fans are against it, but it is more mixed with Texas. Some love it, others hate it. And some don't really care much.

If it's not in writing, it's not an agreement. This would likely be the last expansion for a long time and there's no incentive on the part of South Carolina, Kentucky, Florida or Georgia to say no in the face of more money and some non-near future where they would be faced with adding Florida State, Louisville, Clemson or .Georgia Tech? To the conference.

If you think that agreement is what will prevent this from happening, then it's happening. The only way it doesn't is if Missouri, Arkansas and LSU ring in a chorus with A&M that Texas can kiss their ass. I don't think Arkansas or Missouri have the sway against the other 10 members to hold the line on that, so you'll have Arkansas vote yes and the other 3 vote no and we'll be playing Texas on Thanksgiving.

The payout is already $45 million per school. To increase each team's payout $10million, then they have to bring $260 million annually to the table. It is highly unlikely that those 2 schools will be increasing the pot by $130 million a piece. That would be nearly 3 times the contribution of the average SEC school.

Decent analysis and includes all fourteen member schools and the conference office plus the two new schools

But it doesn't account for the upper from ESPN pickup of the OTA rights after the CBS contract ends at the end of the 2023-2024 season so starting in fall of 2024. That was published at $300 million per year but the upper may be the difference between that and the $55 million CBS paid. That would be an additional 17 * 16.33 million for a total of 130 +
277.66 = 407.66 annually. 'Tain't happening. You can review and comment of course.

I think everyone knows that. Even Texas fans know it, they just don't care or worse take pleasure in it.
