Guaranteed the horns will start pushing for power. I think one of the things that most people don't realize is the amount of journalism and propaganda the horns use to get their power. They own the recruiting services and are constantly propped up to be in the conversation of something great by the media. The only reason they are ever talked about is due to their media influence, not for their actual quality of product.

It's only a matter of time before they start putting pressure to get the SEC champ game in Dallas, their people in power positions within the conference, the conf headquarters moved away from Alabama, SEC Network headquartered in Austin, etc. They'll use their media influence to chip away and get what they want, while screwing everyone else along the way.

People love to hate on Bama and their power now. They have no idea what's in store by inviting horn to "play" along.

They just have no idea...

It probably benefits the Aggies in many ways actually. But the Old Guard is about to be killed by a death by 1000 cuts...

With regard to fan bases, I'm amazed at the apparent level of support this gets on here. For several years this board has swarmed anyone who suggested they wanted to play tu as an ooc game. Now some of those same people are okay with letting these dufusses waltz right in. Anyone who thinks this is okay just isn't thinking clearly.
Didn't Sharp say he was in favor of the A&M -Tu game ?

Make peace and just whip their arse. Our situation with Auburn is no different. They keep fighting and we do as well. I embrace the fight. We fans have no say. Move on and whatever happens be proud of your school and team. A&M has tens years head start in learning how to be an SEC POWER. You think the current tu or OU teams will sail through the conference? Doubt it. A&M is on the verge of greatness. Renewing your meeting with your arch rival will be ok. You'll win some and lose some. We'll all make more money. The SEC is way bigger than tu or OU. I'm not worried. Let the baby out and enjoy being an SEC partner. Everyone I know respects you and wants to kick your arse.
Roll Tide and Gig'em!
Easier said than done, in the late 1980s (while I was a high school underclassman) Arkansas was winning the SWC easily in both football and in basketball and due to t.u.'s venomous influence they decided to leave the SWC for the SEC...
