Not that it matters because the powers that be only car about the money in their own pockets

Not.A.Chance. That ship sailed a decade ago...the SEC would gain nothing from them and this would make winning the SEC championship even more difficult for all teams. Doesn't increase television viewership possibilities over what it is now...doesn't even add money to other schools...a non-starter.
OK...may a snowball's chance....

I would rather them go anywhere but here ... JMO. I would have been cool if it was initially them verses Mizzou and TAMU but now I'm happy with the team we have in this conference.
---Edit--- I still think this may be their way of getting the Big 12 in tow with what they want. The only ones that would benefit from this move at the beginning would be them, the SEC really doesn't benefit from this.

Can they say yes to Oklahoma, but no to texas? The SEC doesn't need to expand.

It makes no financial sense. None. We have Texas A&M to pull in the viewers in the Southwest. They need us a heck of a lot more than we need them.

The only plus side to this is we will be able to eventually even up the record against texas. Other than that this is a very bad idea. texas will poison the conference and eventually destroy it.
Okie Lite would have to be apart of that deal if their state government has anything to say about thatChamp Bailey said:
Tiger droppings ranged from hell no, to maybe just OU. Some were in support just to piss us off. A few thought it would actually provide value.
That place is insufferable. Most "in favor" are simply saying so to jab A&M. The amount of LSU posters there that are giddy/suddenly huge sip fans increased twenty fold yesterday afternoon.Jbob04 said:

According to some posts yesterday, apparently it's up to the sole discretion of the governor not the legislature, and it was Boren a decade ago that was keen on keeping OU and OSU together...new governor, who knows.AggieBlu said:Okie Lite would have to be apart of that deal if their state government has anything to say about thatChamp Bailey said:

We'd likely be unable to take any Tobacco Rd schools, but VT always seemed like a reasonable pull and would bring the DC/NoVa market.
The poll I saw was 62+% against.Jbob04 said:

"Might be losing money on the longhorn network"??? Where the hell have you been? ESPN has lost a hundred million maybe more on that albatross.Quote:
It also makes one wonder if espn might be losing money on the longhorn network and could be behind this proposal. Could a deal be in the works between the SEC and espn that involves Texas and Oklahoma?
Oldtimer - I appreciate your kind words and encouragement.bamaoldtimer said:
Make peace and just whip their arse. Our situation with Auburn is no different. They keep fighting and we do as well. I embrace the fight. We fans have no say. Move on and whatever happens be proud of your school and team. A&M has tens years head start in learning how to be an SEC POWER. You think the current tu or OU teams will sail through the conference? Doubt it. A&M is on the verge of greatness. Renewing your meeting with your arch rival will be ok. You'll win some and lose some. We'll all make more money. The SEC is way bigger than tu or OU. I'm not worried. Let the baby out and enjoy being an SEC partner. Everyone I know respects you and wants to kick your arse.
Roll Tide and Gig'em!

The only thing ESPN can offer the SEC at this point is an equity stake in the SEC Network to make it financially worthwhile.
