As much as I don't want to be in the same conference with Texas or same pod or whatever the heck it will be, it seems clear we won't be in same division/pod as Alabama and that alone makes our path to championship easier.
Recruiting gets tougher for everybody, so what.

Biggest winners: Clemson and Ohio State who continue to have zero competition on the field or in recruiting. Which come to think of it should be a reason South Carolina would vote no.

BAS all over the place.

SEC is a horrible fit for Texas and OU.

That play offense only style of football has shown to be weak AF against SEC defenses.

They bring nothing to the table that the SEC wants and the longhorn network is an anchor around the sips' neck the SEC wants no part of.

The SEC iS about the SEC.

And tu is all about tu.

This is a push to get OU and the sips a better deal out of the BDF.

And by then college football as we know it may be dead anyway; watered down season with expansion and NIL.

Texas will figure out how to drop whatever NIL money it takes to neuter both OU and A&M in recruiting.

I already thought the NIL stuff was going to be a train wreck. If this happens, it could be complete mediocrity in football combined with a complete disappearance of the culture that made A&M such a special place. Heartbreaking.

Surely not. What worries me is that Bjork publicly speaks against it but behind the scenes advocates for it because he wants the extra money. He has no loyalty to A&M. He wasn't around when we had to put up with tu's **** year after year. "So let's get them in, guys, but A&M has to vote know."

Yeah this is disgusting. Haven't felt this repulsed in quite a whileif texas really follows us to the SEC, I will hate them on a level that I didn't know was possible. That football program and athletic department is revolting. They moan and whine, and then try to run off and join those who just left their bs behind.

the tsip way, coatroom deals and cloak & dagger. Then A&M get blindsided and is made to look the fool. This is entirely their MO. I really hope that Brent's leak was from us in order to head it off. Schools both in the SEC and the Big 12 ought to fight tooth and nail to prevent realignment.

The only blessing in all this is that had we not jumped first 10 years ago, we'd be looking at G5 irrelevancy with the rest of the lost 8 children. Thank God for Loftin.

I really don't care based on the amount of sports I've watched since Covid started but I don't think this deal makes the financial sense some think it does. The only thing tu and OU bring to the SEC is fans used to watching games at 11 am. Nothing says tv money power like the elite game of the year for your conference kicking off when bars haven't opened and people are still drinking mimosas and Bloody Mary's.

Supposedly 11am games are a big reason why OU wants out. The Nebraska game was the last straw for them.

I hate to break it to them, but Nebraska-OU isn't an automatic game of the week slot in the SEC package (although that's more on Nebraska mostly sucking lately). So it could well have been a noon game in our package.

This is a disaster.

Yep, tu has demonstrated they they are only out for themselves. They definitely would not be looking out for the interests of the SEC as a whole.

How long before they do something selfish that makes the rest of the members schools mad? 2 years? 4 years? When they do that bitter factions will develop and you'll even start to see old wounds between SEC schools open that would've stayed closed if not for tu's shenanigans.
