Bertolet gets a lot of heat, and some of it is deserving. With that said, he did a decent job for a college kid, and I'm sure many teams would have loved to have him. I think we were just a little spoiled with the string of solid kickers before and after him, but I remember having some real stinkers back in the 2000's.

I'd love to be able to watch a few years of this guy kicking them in games like he does on the practice field. He's fantastic. Give us that and then we can start talking about "Special teams U".

I'll say this after coaching for over 15 years, a good kicker is never something you wanna pass up. 55 yards in high school is the same length in college and the nfl. Had a kid one time was able to hit those with ease and never got rattled. His grades weren't up to snuff and neither was his behavior but I told him if he wants it, he'll be kicking on Sunday's.

My memory is not what it used to be
But If i remember he told me that as a freshman he had a left maybe hernia and that he played with it hurt

Second year right hernia and coaches knee and made him play thru it

I am pretty sure he had two separate surgeries back to back years

Third year was something also but not bad

I would like to say this is just my opinion or

Can you imagine being a kicker everything is your fault
Does not matter if ball is hiked to slow that one time
Does not matter if ball is a littled crooked or not slanted perfect
And hitting the ball at the same place everytime

I know practice practice and I know for a fact he did

But yes he or the holder or the center. Blew it some games
