Looking at Lectric Leland highlights, just nice to see someone return a kick in the college game. When was the last time you got excited about the ball being kicked to one of our guys?

Leland's injury in the '95 Colorado game was huge and affected A&M for the rest of the season in which they were preseason #1 in one of the polls. Let's all hope Achane doesn't have the same fate.

Achane is a more powerful and tougher individual. McElroy was fast a a cat, however, he didn't have the build that Achasne has. McElroy didn't last in the pros because of the lack of toughness.Antman92 said:
I've been watching a lot of the 1994 and 1995 games and watching Leland McElroy just reminds me of Devon Achane. Leland didn't look super fast in traffic, but got yards and if he got outside he was GONE. Achane just runs like him in space and in traffic.

The O-scheme and the personnel didn't match. When Colorado puts 9 & 10 in the box and someone thinks LM is going to be successful in that environment and never change the play calling, it's not LM's fault.halfastros81 said:
Wev'e had some excellent combo backfields. Rodney Thomas/ Greg Hill probably being the best in my memory . I think Achane- Spiller could turn out to be the best of the lot.
McElroy never really lived up to his potential imo . You could see the ability was there but it never totally clicked for whatever reason. I don't recall him having any severe injuries.
Torn ACL in the first quarter only for their backup QB to come in and lead them to victory. That was a top 5 Buffs team, though, from when the Big 8 was legit.AGnBCS said:cc10106 said:

Koy Detmer's Injury had a greater affect if memory serves .

The combo of Achane's ability to break tackles as a speed back has been the most impressive thing so far. He's broken several TDs off by shrugging off tackles at the 3rd level. He's a great reload back in the second half when opposing defenses are worn down. It will be interesting to see how he does as a RB1 eventually.
I find Achane has better wiggle or lateral quickness than LM. Thoughts?Antman92 said:
