Will this be worse than the garbage podcast he had with Kayce Smith on barstool? For people to listen, you actually have to provide content that is interesting, funny, educational, entertaining or insightful. I'm guessing it's none of those things

When does the 30 for 30 get made? That will be insanely entertaining.

These ESPN conspiracy theories are hilarious...

With as much money as they lost lately, they are looking at every revenue stream imaginable.

If a Manziel 30/30 would turn a profit they would make it... but i hope he makes the PGA tour and then they make it. Right now it would just be a sad tale of what could have been.

Is it that difficult to just support and encourage and say something positive about the greatest Aggie football player in history just once in awhile?

Maybe he is no living up to your expectations and dreams but the guy isn't hurting anyone and he's living his life for himself. He doesn't badmouths the university or nation. He's a good dude just loving life.

Encourage and support him please.

Mike Stud. Former pitcher for Duke. I believe Tommy John surgery ended his career. Post baseball he pursued a career in music. He's been around for probably 10 years now. He's played some shows in college station about 7-8 years ago.

JFF isn't revolutionary enough for a 30/30 unless there is more to the story. Billy cannon became a very successful dentist, then engaged in a forgery ring, then did dentistry on fellow inmates, then reformed prison dentistry. That's a story.

JFF was a great player in a college system with an undisciplined coach. He partied a lot. He flopped in the league bc he was schematically unprepared and bc he was too immature to learn quickly as was required.

He's now Charlie sheen, but the women are not as hot and hopefully no hiv.

Anyways, the missing piece is the redemption.

I think the angle that would make it interesting and worthwhile would be if they could get him to spill the beans on the money for memorabilia stuff and the toothlessness of the NCAA when nobody voluntarily decides to cooperate with that kind of investigation, and then do good investigative work into the extent to which that goes on throughout college football. Further expose the charade.

For the record I believe he 100% should have been allowed to accept money for autographs and what have you, and I'm not bothered in the least that he got away with it. But I don't believe for one second that a young hotshot JFF, at a moment when he was the biggest star in college football, spent hours in a hotel room signing one autograph after another for a memorabilia dealer but he totally didn't know they were going to be sold and didn't get anything in return. He just thought this guy wanted hundreds of autographs for no particular reason and chose to spend his time that way instead of partying, chasing tail, or preparing for his next game. Zero percent chance.

Wish he would just go play golf, have a happy/safe life and fade away quietly on his own (having to be in the social media limelight is so baffling to me as it's a disorder to an extent for so many; it's an affliction in a way, but he's probably thinking it will be cathartic for his soul).

This could become more damaging to the Univ in in the long run even if he 'mis-recalls' anything under the Sumlin regime.

Good point. Woule be interesting if they could get the inside scoop on the NCAA poons that were pushing it. Then get the inside scoop on Hyman or whoever the feckless AD was that accepted the half game suspension.

But, would need to get several layers. I doubt the NCAA was just acting on its own initiative. Must have been major influence peddlars pushing on them. Would need to figure out what or better who was motivating the influence peddlar to push on the NCAA to dig. Would probably start really f---ing with the wrong people, and ESPN doesnt do that unless the target people are outside the circle of trust.

ETA: Problem is that they would have to uncover major mendacity to make it interesting to a casual viewer, b/c JFF is just not that sympathetic to anyone except us and maybe a few methed up millenials. Even if he was innocent, we're not talking about the story of the Hurricane or some other gross miscarriage of justice.

It would work best of they tied the mendacity that went after JFF to other NCAA cases.

Frankly, I bet sip bigs were pulling the strings. Figure we were an old-school program that had just hired our first black HC in football. Said HC was smart enough to start crazy white JFF over a self-controlled but less talented black QB. The '12 team finished games, unlike the previous team under an old white coach. That should have bought us enough cred to stay clear of the woke warriors for a few years.

The SMU 30/30 hinted at it, but never came out and said that the sips were pushing it. Maybe they tie those together, along with instances when other SWC programs got hit with probation.

Agreed. If you don't have the discipline and concentration to be an NFL QB or a CFL QB or a Arena League QB, I don't know how you can be successful in the PGA. JFF would prolly be booted from the Tour the first time he got mad and threw his putter into the nearest water hazard.

It would never come to that because he's nowhere near good enough to sniff any professional golf tour, certainly not the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour or even the mini-tours. There are thousands and thousands of amazing golfers playing at clubs across America who would mop the floor with him but who themselves couldn't get the water hot on even the jicky jacks. I'm not sure why people think a good recreational golfer could suddenly decide to go pro and do it. As Kevin Kisner said "this ain't no hobby."

That would just get A&M on probation and a bunch of wins vacated, and otherwise change nothing.

Why don't we stop talking about someone who left early and has done nothing notable since. I thought this was an Aggie Football forum. Not a loser forum?

Yeah, JFF was just one of countless athletes who were great in college but couldn't make it at the next level (for various reasons). I can't believe his story is that interesting to anyone outside of Texags or Tyler, TX.

And his career kind of coincided with the mainstream explosion of social media, when even our parents were asking if they should get on that Twitter thing and getting mad at the way people talk on message boards. So even casual fans got a little taste of Jocksniffer World at the time, in a way that probably added more drama to the reality.
