New QB, 4 new starting o-linemen, 2 big time players on defense needing to be be replaced. I like your optimism, but no way it happens this year.

So I'm all in
Pretty par for the course as far as attrition goes honestly. Bama is losing their entire offense and their OC, plus several great defensive players. Florida is losing just about every decent player they had, so think Cotton bowl minus Trask. Lots of SEC team have new coaching staffs, players transferring etc.Corn Pop said:

It would be interesting to see what the odds are on the field outside the top four you have listed. That is, the odd on any other team besides your top four winning the NC.
This is why I'd tap the brakes. We'll learn the hard way next year what a senior QB means to a team.Quote:

And returning 20 of our two deep on defense, wouldn't write the season off yet.
It all depends on the quality of the players leaving vs the ones replacing them. As good as our line was this year as a unit, none of them are considered exceptional talents individually, and all will likely be late round selections or UFAs at the next level.Agsuffering@bulaw said:Quote:

This is not par for the course, b/c the attrition is massed in the most important position group. The rule of thumb is that it is much easier to plug in a skill player than OL.
Bama returns 2 OL and brings hack Metchie, who lit us up. They always have a 5* RB waiting in the wing. They always have good WRs ready to go. They also return alot of defensive starters: 2/3 DL, 2/3 LBs, 4/5 DBs, plus a bunch from the 2 deep.
Nobody is writing off the season. But we probably do not beat Bama and probably do not make a playoff.
So, you're saying A&M is back! I like it.jturner181 said:

The main problem is that winning the SEC is harder than getting into the CFP.
Gig'em.
Glad to see someone else understands this.Jbob04 said:
