Give me some of that moon football: "Jones takes the snap.... He's got all day with that Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line... He heaves it down rock... Still going... Smith is still running... Still going... AND SMITH MAKES THE CATCH! There's another 420-yard grab for the Heisman winner..."

And before anyone says "CFP or Bust" consider that Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, and Oklahoma are all expected to be in the mix, and we have seen that if there is any excuse to put in a blue blood over the Aggies, they will do it. Also Notre Dame is not in ACC anymore, so they will not have to face Clemson during the regulare season or ACC title game. They do have quite a few potential stumbling blocks on their schedule, but I could see them rising into the field if they start stringing together wins vs Wisconsin, Cincy, UNC, and USC.
yes, OU's 2021 schedule is cupcake city. The Sooners' "big" non-conference game is Nebraska.

maybe they will lose to KState again, but OU will probably have to lose twice to miss the playoff

It's good to see a number of Texags posts where Clemson is listed as a blue blood. This means we have a chance to be labeled the same by Texags before Jimbo's initial 10 years is up..

Because our players rather go somewhere other than Dallas. I would also prefer to travel out of state for a big game.
Next year, I bet all the players and coaches want to play in the Cotton Bowl. Guaranteed.

What about the Rose bowl? Sugar? Peach? What about the incoming freshmen?

Some of these guys have never been out of state outside of football. During the bowl travel, they get to experience the city unlike regular season road games

The playoff games will be at the Cotton and Orange next year. That's what started this whole discussion.

I would like to see A&M play in the Cotton Bowl, THE COTTON BOWL, the old stadium. Get Jerry Jones out of the loop. I would love to see him in an empty stadium.
I would like to see the cotton bowl game host #1 and #2 game on New Years day as it used to, A&M #1 and tu #2, plus A&M whip the sips all the way back to Austin!!!!!

Look I love the old cotton bowl.
Hell my 3 favorite stadiums if all time are the Cotton Bowl, the astrodome and the old cowboys Texas Stadium.
But there is 0% chance the cotton bowl ever moves back to the cotton bowl.
I'm shocked OU and Texas still play there. The neighborhood is the slums , no bars no restaurants ...and ridiculously high crime area

Let me break it down so you can have a better understanding.

1. Next year's CFP semi-final games will be held at the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl.
2. If you finish the season as #1 in the CFP ranking, you get the benefit of playing in the bowl game that is closest to your campus. This year was the exception with Bama being sent to Dallas instead of New Orleans. They wanted to allow the #1 team to play in front of more fans due to the difference in Covid restrictions in Texas and Louisiana.
3. If A&M is ranked #1, then we will play in the Cotton Bowl.

But I understand your point - if there are no CFP implications, I'd rather go to NOLA or ATL instead of Dallas.

For convenience sake, I would take Cotton because Jerryworld is 5 miles from my house.

For road trip and warm weather at New Years sake, Orange please.

No need. I personally prefer the Orange and I bet the majority of the team does

Ummm... beat Bama. This year Jimbo will serve notice to Nick that A&M is coming for their seat.

Those aren't the playoff games next year. Pretty sure they'd rather go Cotton and be in the playoffs than not.

That is not entirely correct. They let the #1 team choose the semi site they play at. Most #1 teams just choose the closest site for obvious reasons due to fan travel. However, I doubt if Bama is #1 and we are #4 that they would give us a defacto home field advantage by choosing the Cotton. They would choose the longer Orange bowl travel trip to make their opponent travel more.

Picking cotton is a pretty difficult job, are you sure you're up to it?
