All TD celebrations including dancing and spiking the ball are now allowed? Not sure if they ruled but have seen multiple spikes and outright NFL style celebrations allowed this month. Thanks for any info in advance

I even think taunting should be allowed. What's wrong with a little trash talk?

tu gets credit for the excessive celebration penalty.

They played Miami in a bowl game and were demolished. Miami really hammed it up after all the scores and big plays. tu, being tu cried cried cried about their feelings being hurt and thus the rule came to be.

Really dumb if you ask me.

I agree. You don't want the other team celebrating or "taunting" then stop them from making plays. Let the guys have their fun

In The U 30 for 30, they blamed the Notre Dame Cotton Bowl for the post-Dirty Birds rules.

I whole-heartedly agree w/ those who say the celebration/taunting penalties have gotten excessive. It's a game. Their emotions should be high.

However, I haven't personally seen any unusual celebrations this season so I can't common on what the OP has seen. Not that I've been glued to the games though.

One that I'm tired of is the signaling of a first down almost after every first down by a WR at the high school level. Guys, you are supposed to get first downs and catch the ball. It's really not that hard the majority of the games now a days. If it's hard for you maybe you should not play WR.

Yep that rule came about because of tu getting a beatdown beyond epic proportions by Miami that year. tu still had an inside man at the NCAA (Wright) during that time, so it became a rule because of the crybabies. They can dish it out, they sure as hell couldn't ever take it.

They didn't. Have no idea what anyone is talking about. Whether something was enforced or not in a particular game is a different issue but the rule hasn't changed.
