What if Auburn is smarter than we give them credit?

What if Auburn wanted Huge Freeze all along. But, they knew some stakeholders would have an issue and that Sankey might stop it? Sankey blocked Saban from hiring Freeze a few years ago.

Auburn can now say that they tried to hire all these untainted coaches, but failed. They wanted to promote the DC, but the base pushed back.

Sankey could step in, but Auburn is one of his better earners. If Auburn is stuck hiring a B coach b/c Sankey blocked Freeze, then he owns the situation. Especially if Freeze gets hired somewhere else and succeeds.


Anyways, probably incorrect but cannot be ruled out.

The ones controlling things at Auburn ain't that smart.

So who is actually in control? There have been rumors about Bobby Lowder, but nothing more.

I swear Auburn has the wildest swings of any team in the SEC

Well, theory disproved. Auburn is as dumb as they appear.

Yup. Apparently they have a HUGE problem with big donors meddling in the Athletic Department. Even to the level of trying to determine who they could hire for the rest of the coaching staff. Heard that is why they had to scramble (because all of the coaches they initially wanted backed out do to this high level of meddling) and basically settle for Harsin. Would not be surprised if they are right back to this point in about 3 years. If I was a Auburn fan I would be frustrated and pissed at this whole clown show.
