I've never really thought about it until now... but you know Dick Butkus has a very unfortunate name.
But - I'm very sure very few ever would say that to his face.
May say he was one of the hardest hitters in the NFL.

The real irony is in that montage his tackles are mostly low and would be legal today. The possible exception is that poor guy who played for the Lions that is probably still a little woozy to this day.
The one after Green Bay, can't tell the team, is definitely a head lowered, lead with the crown, helmet to helmet hit. Could be the one you're talking about. Also, the one in the light blue jersey is probably a helmet to helmet as well. Likely both are legitimate ejections today. All the others are legal hits though.

Nope. 4 high schools in 4 years. Parents moved him around and made sure he would be the starter at Allen HS. Probably transfers a few times in college.

Cheap shots? What in the heck are you talking about? Football was about knocking the crap out of the other team. It wasn't flag football you want to play today. It was a mans sport. That clip doesn't have one cheap shot in it. Oh and I guess they give a major award each year in his name because he wasn't that good. Go watch swimming if this type of hiring hurts you.
