The reason he was one of the most loved and effective presidents in modern times is that he was an Aggie himself. (Class of '70) He understood the uniqueness of our school's traditions and the arrogance of the other school. An outsider wouldn't have evaluated the situation the same and recognized the opportunity to join the SEC.
