There is not a number for this. Domers tied to ACC for season, and that involves $$$. Clempsun could have a 30 pt lead and driving, with 5:00 left, and the final spread would be slim enough to keep the Dometards in the CFP.

NW could be hammering tOSU, and the Big10 refs will job NW hard, ensuring at least 1 team gets in by paving the way for tOSU.

If Brent Venables has a healthy defense and they keep ND contained on offense, this game will get out of hand early.

Clemson up by 17+ at the half should have us looking strong. Book is alright but he's not the QB to bring them back if it's a big deficit.

Us beating Tennessee by 20+ might be enough to get us the nod if everything is close. If we tiptoe by Tenn it might kick us out.

3rd at best. Clemson has played in 4 of the last 5 national championships. Bama is Bama. I think you could say Ohio State, LSU, Georgia, are all in that next tier. You could argue around about those three and maybe 2-3 others but 1-2 are pretty locked up.

If Clemson wins, I Think it comes down to how much the committee will value notre Dames win over Clemson without Lawrence and some defensive starters

If they say, "hey, with Lawrence Clemson is clearly the better team and so that earlier win was because they were missing key guys" then we will get in

But if they still place full weight on that earlier victory over Clemson then notre dame will stay in

I think that's where "how" Clemson wins comes in

If it's a nail biter back and forth game where both teams are in it until the end then they can say Lawrence didn't have much of an effect, but if Clemson controls the game and notre dame never threatens then they will likely go with the former take and drop Nd out

He clearly stated they were not holding that loss against Clemson since Lawrence and several defensive starters were out.

And I agree with what he stated.

Now, once you take this stance it should and that is should mean the committee also take the stance that win is not that great for Notre Dame and they would have lost playing Clemson at full strength.

It's really that simple. However money and politics will be used instead of doing the right thing.
