May be yes, maybe no, I don't know.

Yes, expand to 8 teams, and it will expand because it is more money for television networks and universities.

However, the first two games should be at university home stadiums to truly maximize revenue for schools and reward the top teams for regular season success. Money should go to those college communities that support the teams, not some destination community.

Get rid of any bowl involvement except to bid on hosting the championship game.

Needs 8 teams.

No reason not to.

6 teams, top 2 get first round byes...would allow for a close loss team in the SEC championship game to get in. I think it's about more than just crowning the champion. It's about having interesting games with consequence at the end of the season, IMO.

Every game is an interesting game of consequence under the current format. If Bama loses this weekend, they will miss the playoffs with another L. Thus, every game going forward is an interesting game of consequence

I would argue very few games in bowl season have consequence...

I'd like to see it get to either top 8 or top 2 with two teams having a bye
No matter what!
Epstein didn't do, you know, the thing...
I'm the rare Astros/Cowboys/Spurs fan. We do exist

Yes, there are only 3 games of consequence during bowl season, but each contender plays 12 games of consequence during the regular season. Oregon is in an unsuspecting game of consequence right now. If we had the NFL playoff format, they would likely still go to the playoffs making this game meaningless and uninteresting.

I get your point. My suggestion is a very minor adjustment that would keep the regular season important. In a typical year, teams #3-6 are pretty close. It would be fun to watch them play a round to get to play the top 2. It wouldn't change the importance of the regular season game but may, for example, let a team that only lost one game to an undefeated conference opponent at the beginning of the season have a chance at redemption.

32 teams and everyone gets a trophy.
