Interesting. Thought Young was stepping down at end of May but just got announcement email that he has decided to step down at end of December.

I mean the last nine months had to have been a drag. He is probably done mentally, emotionally, physically, etc.
Glad he's stepping down earlier. He's been awful.
He'll still be drawing a paycheck from A&M as long as HE chooses. Working elsewhere at A&M owned campus in another state.

Disappointed that it wasn't effective immediately.
Young hasn't been doing much ever since March. He was a glorified figurehead. Not surprised he's leaving sooner.

I didn't think it was a great fit for him or A&M, but what specifically did he do that has some hate him?
The first thing that comes to mind was Young publicizing an off campus hate crime as an indictment of Texas A&M, going so far as to offer a cash reward for information, only to go radio silent when it was exposed as a hoax and the perpetrator didn't check the right boxes.
Thank God! That guy was insufferable. Whoever thought he was a good hire, needs to be gone also!

That, in and of itself, is sufficient. One could list a litany of other instances of generally poor decisions, comments, initiatives, etc.
So the real question is why is sharp still chancellor? Need to put term limits on that **** stat. Like most people in public office, pretty worthless after the first couple years....
