When the wind was blowing just right, an awesome cloud would fill the living room.

//Late at night runs to Der Wienerschizale in Byran kept us going for all-nighters in the early '70s. Does this establishment still exist?//Just my thoughts.//

In the '76 to '78 timeframe there was a hole in wall on Northgate named "Dead Solid Perfect" . Otherwise known as DSP. Picnic tables and a grill set up that made massive burgers.

Every chance I got. On one visit, one of the women working there came up behind us and slammed a flyswatter on our table so hard that it rattled every bowl and plate. Scared the crap outta me, and my buddy almost choked on his tea from laughing so hard.revvie said:
So did any of you ever eat at Mom's in Bryan.
Seems like I remember a hamburger joint west of the campus theater before the Welborn highway on university that was affectionately referred to as the "**** Hut". I'm sure the building doesn't even exist anymore.74AnimalA said:

Shipley's Deluxe. Double Meat/Double Cheese & Fries. Think it was $1.19.

Im biased, I worked at Fatburger in Bryan in the late 90's. Did deliveries, cooked, whatever. Last one to show up for work had to drive the daytime cook home and stop at the corner store so he could buy 4 40's. Every day.
Was pretty crazy, got my first speeding ticket because the residents in the hood thought I was a drug dealer for driving through constantly and we didn't have signs on the truck.
Always knew when govt assistance checks went out as business for 2 nights was crazy in the ****tiest of trailer parks. More than once I left the truck running and door open. They never tipped, they couldn't do math and we didn't do pro-bono deliveries.
We figure out which addresses had cute chicks or families that tipped Very well and made them the best possible orders. We fought over those deliveries.
100% cash, 100% under the table. Food was good, made well and clean. It was 95% deliveries. Only cops ate in.
