2012. Everything seems to be going as planned.

OL and DL pushing SEC teams around is a welcome sight and appears to just be getting started. Foundation is coming along and Jimbo appears to be on schedule in year 3.

Jimbo is on schedule indeed.

And for all you pot banging mouth breathers, one day we will have a different QB, and Jimbo will still be on schedule.

Not if his idea of a great QB ("best in the SEC") is Mond....... I seriously question his judgement, since he continues to play Mond........

The ONLY valid ANNUAL goal for ALL Aggie Sports is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Obsession noted. Can't help but mention Mond on every thread.

This was a big win. Starkville is not an easy place to play. This was a typical aggie trap game and they win by two tds. The most encouraging thing to me was that mond played meh and we still won by two touchdowns. That's a different story than previous years.

would you have Jimbo come out and single out players who played poorly in his public press conferences? Might be a bad look for recruiting, a very, very, very bad look and would also destroy players' trust in Jimbo. Coaches need to be supportive of individual players when they can be, especially in the public eye for the most part, and keep most the hard conversations in the coach's office or on the field. Saban didn't just shred Hurts when he struggled to a degree all year and inevitably lead to replacing him with Tua.

I don't expect O'day, Dabo, Saban, or Smart to come out and bash an individual player who didn't even cost a game this year. I would be shocked. I wouldn't even expect Mike Leach, Tom Herman, or Kiffin to do that! Why would you want Jimbo to do that? I'm sure Jimbo gives Mond the criticism that he deserves behind closed doors, but many of y'all on here are OVERLY critical of Mond. You see a bad pass from Mond and choose to focus on that ONE pass instead of the 4 good ones before it. You hate Mond so you expect perfection, you make perfection the standard just so you can bash him.

King is a true freshman who didn't get spring camp OR a regular fall camp. I'm not gonna say Mond is just killin' so far, but he hasn't cost us a game yet. Is it THAT crazy to say that maybe Mond is a better QB at the moment? Not asking if Mond is a great QB, but is it so far fetched to think that a guy who has a winning record at QB in his 4th year as a starter and understands this offense at least fairly well gives us a better chance to win games than a true freshman QB who has 2 months of college experience in this program?

I hope you're just a t-sip troll because it's frightening to think that aggies question jimbo's judgement based on his playing Mond.

This was our first double-digit road win since a 24-13 win at South Carolina on October 1, 2016. Our previous four road wins from 2017 to 2019 were by 7 points or fewer. Despite an an average performance from Kellen Mond and a pick-six, we still beat Mississippi State by 14 points. Jimbo Fisher could have called a timeout to score another touchdown or a field goal to win by 21 or 17 points, but he wanted to show class. I believe that if not for a pick-six, we probably would have scored a field goal on that possession. We would have won by a score of 31-7, but it was still a satisfying road win.

I'm honestly happy with yesterday's win. Winning on the road in the SEC is always a good thing. Doing so by double digits is a better thing. Mond didn't have to look like Johnny Football since our running game was working.

I completely agree with you. Yesterdays 28-14 win at Mississippi State much better than our uninspiring 17-12 home win over Vanderbilt. Mississippi State stunned defending champion LSU 44-34 in Baton Rouge. After week 1, many people on this forum, including myself, expected us to lose three straight games to Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi State. After getting crushed by Alabama 52-24, we have responded with two straight wins to improve to 3-1. Mississippi State is moving in the opposite direction by losing three straight games and two of them by double digits.

Both LSU and South Carolina slaughtered Vanderbilt by a score of 41-7. I won't be surprised if Vanderbilt finishes 0-10 and loses all of their remaining seven games by double digits. If that happens, we would be the only team that didn't beat Vanderbilt by double digits.

Is winning on the road in the SEC easier this year?

Sumlin had the perfect setup after JFF and totally botch it! OU took our show pony and he's now with the Cardinals. He left us void and if Trevor hadn't jumped ship we'd have been major screwed. He needed to be fired.

He did not recruit Mond, even with Mond playing in his own backyard at IMG if that doesn't answer your question.

Mond is the most experienced and best option at this point - not that hard to understand. We'll see Jimbo's QB recruit next, until then, Jimbo knows better than you clowns

Much different situations.

And imagine Sumlin's record without Johnny, and if Jimbo had Johnny. Wouldn't even be similar.

I hate stat comparisons like this, because they offer no context whatsoever, and convince those who don't do their research to think Jimbo and Sumlin are even in the same universe of coaching.

The debut of the all black unis. I remember Johnny and team showing up and just trucking them from the outset.
