Take it to the logical conclusion. The BDF will never admit another program with the stroke to challenge sip hegemony. Specifically (Todd's know, others may not) a big enough fan base, that the conference could survive (remain p 5) if the sips left.

animus for Nebraska is secondary.

Colorado screwed up by joining the PAC12. Geographically it is an awful fit.

The ten old "Pac10" schools also now think it was a bad fit to add CU, and they regret offering CU a chance to join. They wish it was still the Pac10.

Many wish it was still the Pac 8.

Academics was the excuse to leave wasn't it?
Excuse is correct!!! Reason, was getting their butts handed to them in the big 8, 10 ,or 12 was more like it. Rejoin away, who cares!!!!

Nebraska is benefiting from both their media deals and their network to the tune of about $50 million when the new contract kicks in and they receive full shares now. Our new contract is still four years off from starting but likely will be similar. Their addition of the eastern seaboard likely kicks in only partway in the current contract. The more densely populated northeast and north continues to lose ground to the south, but the SEC population growth mainly is driven by Florida and Texas.

The Big Ten is not a better conference but it still is a peer. They still have significantly better basketball but our efforts to close that gap should come to fruition if fans support the schools within 10-15 years. I lived in Big Ten country and they can fill stadiums just fine, still.
