Congrats to rrtodds - you're the winner! Just contact suzanne@texags.com to claim your prize!

Everyone remembers where they were when the Aggies beat LSU in seven overtimes. We all remember the Bonfire game, The Shot, by Acie Law, and many more high profile victories for the maroon and white. But what we want to know from you is what Aggie sporting event, or singular performance you hold in high regard that may not be a consensus top play by your Aggie family.

For example, I will always remember watching #16 TAMU and Johnny Football beat #15 Mississippi State on TV at Corner Bar with a group of friends. I saw an amazing player in a great game with awesome friends . . . and I met my wife that day!!

The winner will receive a Pizza Party Pack Certificate which is your choice of 6 Large 1-topping pizzas or 50 Peproni Rolls.

Our dining rooms are open!
Also, we offer curbside pickup. Customers can arrive and give us a call to bring the food out to their vehicle. We also offer contactless delivery.

1997 Oklahoma State. Winning in overtime. (I believe it was the first OT game for A&M) One of the most underrated loudest games I can remember.

Aggies vs LaTech was Johnny's first Aggie game and breakout performance... his best play was on the 80 yard defensive stop he made after a fumble that was later ruled not even a play if I remember correctly!

One of my best memories was watching the 89 holiday bowl. The cougs talked so much trash leading up to the game and then got destroyed by the wrecking crew. Bucky scored a touchdown as a tailback. Great memories.

One of my favorite memories was the Texas A&M Aggies' 45-38 2-OT win over Tennessee Volunteers on 10/8/16, to improve to 6-0 and 4-0 in SEC games. It was an ESPN College Gameday match up of two top-10 ranked undefeated teams (No. 9 Tennessee vs No. 8 5-0 Texas A&M), looking to improve to 6-0 before facing Alabama. I was at that game, which lasted over four and half hours.

We led 28-7 in the third quarter before Tennessee outscored us 28-7 during the rest of regulation. When we were leading 35-28 with 1:49 left, Traveon Williams had ran 71 yards to the 2-yard line before fumbling. I thought we were about to extend our lead to 42-28 to put Tennessee away, but that turnover enabled Tennessee to come back to tie the game at 35 to force overtime. Our defense surrendered 684 yards and 38 points, but came up with seven takeaways, including an interception in the 2nd overtime to seal the win.

Of course, we followed that win with 5 losses in our last 7 games, including a 33-28 loss to Kansas State in the Texas Bowl, to finish 8-5 (4-4 in SEC games) for the third year in a row. Also, it was our last victory against a Power-5 team until we defeated Arkansas 50-43 in overtime on 9/23/17. Tennessee went on to finish 9-4 (4-4 in SEC games), including a 38-24 win over Nebraska in the 2016 Music City Bowl. Both Butch Jones (fired with two games left in 2017) and Kevin Sumlin would get fired by the end of the 2017 season.

I'll never forget A&M vs Army in San Antonio, 2006. What a wild and mentally exhausting season that was. Staying true to all the other nail-biters that season, it went down to the very last possession but the Ag's won. My ears were ringing for about 30 mins once we left the dome/arena. The crowd noise was just, stupid loud.

Most of you know I'm not an Aggie; but,

- 1999 - That was such an emotional time and I was in the stands for the game. Not the final outcome that I wanted but it is tied for my most memorable Aggie game. I was a wreck with emotion sitting in the stands with many of my Aggie friends.

- 2011 - final game in the Texas series. I was there as well and it was electrifying. This time, I got the result but more importantly, will never forget the atmosphere that night.

Obviously, all of us enjoy the wins over tu. That's a given.

But, being from Waco with quite a bit of baylor influence in my family (and some t-shirt sips in the mix), beating baylor was always enjoyable and satisfying.

Some of my favorite personal Aggie game experiences are wins in Waco. Most enjoyable of the in-person experiences: 2006. We lost to baylor for the first time in nearly 20 years in '04 and '05 we narrowly avoided embarrassment again, needing OT to win. 2006 baylor was back home, cocky as ever and from trying to trash our Midnight Yell practice in Waco by throwing harmful objects into our group, to the hurling of insults etc. pre-game and during the game, they thought they were the new sheriff on the Brazos. I had a group of friends with me, along with my grandmother and uncle from Abilene (their first ever Aggie game) along with my mom. And to our surprise, baylor lifted the tarp of shame due to high demand for tickets, of which was filled mainly with Ags. It was a 3-point Ag lead late 4th with the Ags needing to string together a couple 1st downs to ice it when Mike Goodson dashed 60 yards down the sideline towards the sea of maroon for the game sealing TD. The run, the win was my favorite of all the times I'd been to Kyle Field North.

A close second was in 1996. Sitting in the baylor section with a friend of mine and his family (his whole family - big baylor alums) in another close contest late. With baylor trying to close the gap, they pinned the Ags inside the 5, thinking they could force a 3-and-out and get the ball back and hold good field position. Tiki Hardeman then burst 95 yards to put that game on ice. What a joyous sound to hear the Ags at the other half of the stadium roar in a frenzy, while the baylor folks ran to the exists with choice words.

I'm class of '21 so mine are pretty recent. I can only relive moments from '12 and onward in my head.

My favorite of all was Bryce Blaum's walkoff grand slam in last year's regional tournament. I played baseball with and against several guys currently playing at D1 baseball, including guys at A&M, TCU, tu, and others, before I got to come to A&M. I was sure that another player was going to be our starting 2nd baseman and I was livid when Blaum was announced as our starting 2nd baseman. After about 3 weekends, he had earned ALL the respect I had to offer and he was my favorite fielder/hitter on the team. Seeing a guy like that who plays so hard with class hit that bomb was epic. Plus I think EVERY little kid who plays baseball has tossed his ball up in the air to hit while pretending his team was down 3 in the bottom of the 9th with bases loaded, a full count and 2 outs, and swung. I know I did it hundreds of times in the pasture, so seeing an Aggie get to experience one of the most exhilarating things in sports was even an adrenaline rush for me.

My favorite in person moment was of course the LSU game win. As soon as Mond threw the not-interception towards the end of regulation, some 2% around me started to leave and I yelled, "y'all better get back here, his knee was down," because I had seen another QB do the same thing on a low snap just a couple weeks earlier in a college game. I love watching us play LSU in sports since my grandfather (ooooold ag) has an intense hatred for them from old rivalries that he loves to talk about, and since it looks like that's the only time I'll get to see us play LSU at Kyle as a student (because COVID), I'm glad that's the one.

That was also my favorite in-person Aggie moment, but the thread asked about an Aggie sporting event or singular performance you hold in high regard that may not be a consensus top play by your Aggie family. That's why I had previously posted the double overtime win over Tennessee in 2016. I graduated in May 2017 and had recent graduate season tickets during the past three years. I was at Section 345 during the 74-72 7 OT win over LSU. When Kellen Mond appeared to have thrown the interception, I noticed fans started to leave before coming back. LSU players gave head coach Ed Orgeron a Gatorade bath prematurely. It was both nerve-wracking and exciting to watch the two teams trade points until we stopped LSU's two-point conversion attempt and successfully converted our attempt in the 7th overtime. Then, I saw fans storming the field. We were the last team to beat LSU before their current 16-game winning streak.

Mine will differ from most. The summer before the women's basketball team won the national championship, i was able to send my daughter to Gary Blair's basketball camp. Even though i could have easily had her commute daily I made the decision to have her stay on campus. Not only did my daughter get to experience being in camp with a team which would go on to win the championship, she was able to hang out in the evening in the dorms and get to know them better. She had nothing but good things to say and it will be remembered for the rest of her life. She eventually became MVP of her JV team but the new coach and her had a huge disagreement her senior year so it ended her basketball career, She inherited my non-blazing speed so college was not an option (only 5'6" as well) so I am glad she has that memory to hold on to as a positive experience. One of my wiser decisions as a father.

Although I relish beating tu 3 of my 5 years (doh!) at A&M, I think that, in my era, anything Johnny FF has to take the cake. Although arky was the first real test (post 11-2 Florida - a game that we could have won), the Ole Miss thriller to Swope really announced our arrival. Then, of course, the 'Bama winner. Can you only imagine if we had Johnny on the field for 4 years?
I am here for the comments.

In 1965 I witnessed 19 year old James Randall Matson set the first of his 4 world records for shot put at 70 feet, 7 3/4 inches at a meet on Kyle Field and then in April 1967, I witnessed Randy's last world record toss of 71feet, 7 1/2 inches.

My first trip to Kyle Field, Nov. 9, 2002. Reggie & the upset over OU. I was in jr high & had been a fan for a few years, but from that point on I knew I was going to be an Aggie.
