Not sure this is brag worthy but my kid did not get into A&M.... but he is a huge Aggie. So he decided to attend NMMI in the fall with the hopes that with the discipline they provide and some hard work he will get into A&M. at some point. The bonus news is that the coaches got his film and he has be invited to walk onto the juco football team (same division as Blinn, Navarro...you get it). I know it's not really A&M related or A&M football related but it's really cool and of course my dream would be that he would get into Texas A&M and be the first second generational Aggie in the family. I am 98 and wife is 00. My bigger dream would be that he would do well in football, gain some weight and take a shot at walking on when he gets to Aggieland. Even if he got to be a part of the team it could be awesome. Anyway, I hope I did not waste your time but I was pretty excited. Fire away if you must.

Congrats! It is a big deal! Hope he scores big! Be proud!

My daughter started on the equestrian team for all four years is the only western rider riding both western events. We had a blast traveling to the SEC schools and others.

Must admit that when I read that you were 98, I thought "years old." Then I saw your wife's year and it clicked . To be fair, I have had three surgeries, two long ones, since June 1. Anesthesia brain is in full swing!

Roger Staubach attended and played at NMMI.
Congrats OP!

I did not know that! And I am a football junkie. Second son attended USNA. Staubach played his college ball there. We attended a couple games a year. Interesting.

This is good bull! My son didn't get into A&M his freshman year so he went to Blinn in Bryan just to stay close. He's always been an athlete but our high school didn't have football so he played Basketball in jr high/high school. His plan was to keep working out and get into A&M then walk on. During his freshman year, he realized that he had made A&M an "idol" (I probably contributed to that) and made the tough decision to look elsewhere. He went to visit ETBU up in Marshall, TX and told the coaches he wanted to play football. (Hadn't played since 6th grade.) He put in tons of work last year to prove to the coaches he's committed. He's now 6'5" and 255# starting tight end for them. He's never been happier. A&M isn't the same place it was when I was there (class of '90) and that makes me sad, but I still love everything about it. Would have loved seeing my son run out of the tunnel at Kyle, but I'm the proudest ETBU Tiger dad you ever saw!

This is super awesome!!!

Congratulations to your son. Sounds like he's a hard worker Anne I hope he reaches his dreams!

I can't imagine how proud of him you and your wife are!
I see what you did there Annie

Anne Congratulations on your son going to NMMI. Can't wait to see him playing on Kyle Field
It was actually by accident, I used talk text and it switched on me, but it does fit well with me.

When you said you were '98' I immediately thought, "dang, he's old!" Truth be known, I'm old and it took me awhile to figure that was your class year!

It would also mean he had a kid at 80!

I thought he was old and had a super petite wife.
