OSU didn't score after his fumble and we were already down 14-0 after the fumble off the FB Elbow and they also didn't score.

You are.. Fake news.

we were in the red zone and he cpuldn't hand the ****ing ball off to the running back.

That lost us at least 3 points if not 7 points.

seriously. u sunshine pumpers are the worst.

I just don't understand people crowing over squeaking by a ****ty BDF team.

we should have won by 3 scores.

we had one skill position that sucked all night and u guys are over the moon over a handful of good plays that barely outweighed all the inaccurate throws and miscues and fumbles.

we beat okie light in the Texas bowl.

go ahead...keep celebrating mediocrity. bet ur cowboys fans too.

Without that 60 yard td run and the other run to lead to the fg the defense early may have cost us the game.

Crazy concept. Almost as if it's a team sport
The defense had 1 bad series.

Defense played great. I was attempting to show the stupidity of his argument by sarcastically using a similar dumb one.

Without the ability to throw an accurate deep ball, we absolutely needed his legs.

Yes, Mond is better than the 3* true fish and the run-first redshirt fish. I really try to root for Mond but he seems to have hit his ceiling. He can't hit open receivers. Simple as that. Mond will be good enough for 9-3 next season. And for some of you that will be enough. But I think when one of Foster, Calzada, or King reach their potential Fisher is going to have a tough decision to make.

At this point I'm accepting mediocrity.

I'm not kidding.

Oklahoma State has had up years and down years with Gundy. Heck they almost made it to the Natty in the BCS.

That's my mindset with Fisher.

Getting 2013 out of my head and setting some realistic expectations for my brain to handle. I just want to be a tough team.

I saw three bad series for the defense....

It's amazing to me that anyone is satisfied with how Mond is playing in year 3. All I can say is that your expectations are much different than mine.

The four teams playing games that matter this month have the four best QB's in CFB. We are trying to decide if our three year starter is better than his backups who have barely played three series', or argue if his running ability offsets his horrible deficiencies in throwing passes that go more than 5 yards, or his failure to protect the football.

Very solid perspective! I lost all confidence in Mond after Clemson game and each ranked opponent after has reaffirmed my doubts in him as a Quarterback.

Yeah but he almost doubled those passing numbers in the second half! MVP, MVP!

Mond's legs were huge when we got him running (side note: I loved the 2 back option looks we showed) but we lack any ability to challenge defenses vertically and Kellen straight up misses guys all the time, including a wide open TD in the back of the end zone when he had a clean pocket.

Ultimately the guy just doesn't have a feel for the game, I'm thinking of the incompletion when he tried to force the check down pass to spiller that was right at the line of scrimmage in traffic. Absolutely no progression of routes or rhythm as the leader of the offense.

Now to his backups: we've seen less than nothing from Foster and Calzada this season couldn't throw a touch pass to save his life. ZC might improve with another offseason and challenge in spring camp, but I'm not holding my breath yet.

Yes, Mond doesn't get the support he should from the OL or running game, but he's going to finish the year with the 75th ranked passer rating in CFB (give or take a couple based on bowl season results).

That's shockingly bad for a third year starter.

Gracious man, watch the games.

Perhaps you missed Calzada's first TD pass?

Go to 8:30, you will not see a better thrown TD pass. Senses the pressure, moves up and throws a perfect touch pass while under pressure and on the run. And it was 30 yards in the air.

Calzada never got enough snaps.

Something is wrong. ESPN rates Mond as the 7th best QB in the SEC. He claims to be #1. Can someone explain this?

I agree! There is a reason Georgia made such a strong push for Calzada, late. The kid has a cannon with an enormous upside!

Maybe, maybe not. But if Jimbo would bench Mond next year, we can start rebuilding next year. But next year we'll have Mond for another mediocre year and THEN we get to rebuild the year after that.

So, you would prefer that we all be negative nellies like you? I've been around for awhile, but I'm not a football coach, nor are you. Nothing wrong with a little optimism. BTW: keep it clean with the language.

I'm not being sarcastic or trying to prove a point - honest question from a person who doesn't know much about the WR position...

Why can't our receivers ever get open against any team other than Lamar?

Yes we won, yes Mond got the mvp but this was against ok state lol. With a talented quarterback, we should have won by 3 touchdowns minimum. Mond is 3rd year QB and still struggles to go under center.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
The quarterbacks job isn't to keep us out of a hole it is to put us on a hill, which Mond really wasn't very good at against okie state. The defense put us in a hole early but then they stopped digging and started filling it back in.

I am conflicted about Mond, I keep seeing overtime against lsu and expect that Mond and those receivers every game and then get disappointed and frustrated when they don't show up.

The fact we won this game with a QB that passed for less than 100 yards shows just how bad the Big12 teams are.

As if the 1-5 record doesn't speak for itself...

The skinny: Mond originally committed to Baylor, but then re-opened his recruitment and eventually signed with Texas A&M. Auburn proved to be the Aggies' major threat.

Mond began to showcase his potential immediately in 2017 and then took his game to the next level in 2018. While he may not have reached the levels many expected this fall, he still impressed with 2,897 yards and 20 touchdowns through the air, plus eight touchdowns on the ground.

Farrell's take: Mond has been key for Texas A&M and handled the pressure of being thrust into a starting role before he was ready. Mond was a guy I stood on the table for as a five-star with zero agreement from our staff, so if he fails, it's on me for this eval.

He reminded me of a young DeShaun Watson with slightly less accuracy but better running ability. So far he has been up and down. There have been many more ups than downs and he's played some of his best football against the best teams, although this past year he fell a bit flat against Clemson and Auburn, which is disappointing. He'll be on early Heisman lists next year but is a long way from being consistent.

Farrell gave him 5 stars.

Mond is a great athlete who played sloppy. The fumbles were bad, especially the second. The only excuse for a fumble is a blindside shot. Mond's athletecism bailed him (and us) out. Even SEC avg QB play would have won us that game by 7-10. Jake Fromm would have won by 13-14.

We won both lines of scrimmage. Hubbard had a few big runs b/c our secondary did not fit correctly. Okie Lite would get pimp-slapped in the SEC. They cant play man coverage. They have no depth.

Mond looked like an athletic BDF QB abusing an unathletic defense. I still think he can breakout next year, but dont kid yourself about the bowl. Mond did not play to his abilities.

Sadly we don't have a QB in waiting either so we should use Demas like Kentucky did with their wide receiver.
