Just checked the rankings, how the hell did Hudson Card get such a boost in the rankings, and why did Haynes fall so much. He went from 1 to like 5 over the course of 2 months. I looked at the stats and they're virtually identical.

Hudson Card has been pretty static for awhile. He's ranked no higher than he has been for awhile.

The whole star system is bull if you can just give out a 5th star that means *elite* status and then yank it away.
The only thing king has going for him over Card is that he runs faster, throws better, and willed his team to a state championship.
But card has better hair and signed with sip so obviously he's the better QB.

He's a lake Travis QB committed to the sips.
Hard is a WR and likely ends up there at tu.
King had a nationally televised game where he threw some picks. Team still won like 42-0 if I remember.

People always get bent out of shape when sips inflate their rankings on commits or kids that should otherwise be equal. However, this does them a disservice in the long run: they get mediocre results, under develop high 4* talent when on campus, don't get as many kids drafted.
Texas disappoints year in and year out with their shenanigans.
A new OC that doesn't run the qb read option may make Card a very good qb. He has scrambling speed to keep plays going and looks like a pocket passer. Combined with the rb recruit, could be good. Still need an oline, which is more important than the diff between the 2 qbs.
But they will also have the Duncanville qb if they keep their existing scheme or mix it up. They appear to have 2 good options.

Herman isn't going to abandon his offense regardless of his OC. He's too much of a narcissist to do so.
King had a down year throwing the ball due to a loss of talent at the skill positions and a rumored throwing shoulder injury he played through all year. This is all based off senior year statistics that don't look as good as Card's.
I'm so over people using this as an excuse for everything. King's stats dropped off significantly this season. He had a pretty weak start to the season and was dropped because of it. If you want to make excuses, look at King losing a lot of talent around him after his junior year.TxAg76 said:

Comments on King are true, but this isn't a new thing, or just a Haynes King phenomenon....its been legitimately happening for years....Looch himself even makes fairly common references to it....
Win a championship and the ratings will adjust time compensate for their previous perceived inaccuracies. They don't like what placing better talent ratings with a school that underachieves suggests for their service...

Offer and recruit are two different things.

King looked underwhelming to say the very least in his Senior year. I don't understand all the hype for him honestly. I wouldn't be surprised if he transfers after losing the QB position to stowers after Calzada graduates
