I realize that this statement is about opinion and preference, but, for me, the playoff has made the other bowls irrelevant.

Expand the playoff, and discontinue the other stuff. It used to be easier to pretend that these games meant something, but, now, you just almost can't do it.

I will probably watch A&M out of habit and because it doesn't cost anything, but, really, who cares?

Soon they'll be queuing up stories about which seniors will sit out, and which players will skip it to go play for another school.

I don't know that the second and third tier bowl match-ups could be any less interesting even if that was what the original objective had been...

I'll bet you can find some $10 seats to the Texas Bowl if you're patient...

Utah is gonna throw the game, lose 77-0, fire Morgan Scalley and Texas is gonna hire him as their new DC. Randy Christal has already been assigned as the referee so it's a done deal. BDF! BDF! BDF!

it's not a coincidence that A&M ended up in Houston and the sips in San Antonio after both schools had 7-5 seasons.

No, its not. The SEC is the only major conference where the league office gets to decide who goes where. Every other conference, the bowls pay for a selection slot. Alamo had dibs after the NY6 for the BDF.

DKR is 100k. Maybe they only need 90k. The TBoone Bowl (may he rest eternal) is 60k. The sips can sell more tickets, all things equal.

But, things are not equal. SA is a shorter drive for the average sip fan than the avg okie lite fan. This was a no-brainer business decision. The sips did not have to politic on this one.

The sips would have preferred ND in the camping world. At least ND is a helmet program. Easier to spin that loss.

Am I the only one that thinks Utah is pretty overrated? The PAC is awful this year. They were beat by a pretty average USC and blown out by Oregon.
