that the Big 12 and Texas ran away from restarting the rivalry. I don't wanna play them either, but there's no way in hell that you put an unranked 7-5 sip team against a two loss Utah, when an 8-4 RANKED okie state team is right there.

Tickets be damned, there's now way you screw a team with a better record when they play in the same conference, cuz if that's true (which it probably is) then what the hell is the point of winning games for the bowls and the prestige of the bowls if the "bigger" school will get in with a worse record

Ok state didn't get screwed. They finished behind Texas Jn big 12 standings.
And Utah will prefer to play Texas.

"They finished higher in the conference"
who gives a damn, your national ranking should trump a contrived conference tiebreaker, it makes you sound like sips last year in bball when they won the NIT
I'm not certain this is the case. OSU travels fairly well and would spend a lot of money in San Antonio. Plus it would make a much better match up and entertaining game. The actual alumni of Texas aren't going to go to this game, well maybe a few will. You will have 15,000 clean cut Utah fans mixed with 40,000 local t-shirt fans from SA (imagine a bunch of fatties from the south side). The 40,000 locals aren't going to spend a penny in SA other than the ticket and a few budwiesers at the game while having 20,000 OK St fans in SA would have been a cash cow for downtown. the restaurants and bars.Cstrickland05 said:
Except that the Alamo Bowl knows that Texas will sell a whole lot more tix than OSU

That's like saying we should be 8-4 because we played clemson, national ranking should trump conference positioning

ur argument doesn't make sense bc okie state has one more win, in the case of both teams being 9-2 then yea the conference tiebreaker actually matters, but not if we have an extra win

All yall speculating as experts on the selection process make me laugh when compared to previous bowl prediction threads.
Look at Tennessee... they were given preference on bowl

Eating flour tortillas and refried beans every day makes you fat. I know because I eat flour tortillas and refried beans every day. I fit right in on the south side when I make appearances there.TyperWoods said:george1992 said:I'm not certain this is the case. OSU travels fairly well and would spend a lot of money in San Antonio.
