This is the kind of rumor that leaks so that when the actual hire is made and it's underwhelming, the fans say "well, at least it's better than hiring Dion Sanders."

Was a founder of a charter school in Dallas named " Prime Prep Academy". He was the head coach and later fired for alleged assault.
The school was a disaster and closed within 3 years for severe financial mismanagement

Deion's coaching at Trinity Christian Cedar Hill (TAPPS 5A), which our school beat their basketball team to get to state this last season. The basketball program was put on probation and can't play post-season this year. Apparently last week the football team is also getting out on probation for recruiting. Deion has 2 sons who play for them.

Their principal went to the Dallas Morning News and complained about their school being discriminated against, and that they are leaving TAPPS and going independent as a prep school. Wherever Deion goes, scandal follows.

Out little ol basketball team knocked them out in the quarterfinals this past year and 2 years prior when my oldest was a senior. I like to think we ran their cheating asses out of TAPPS.

He is not even the head coach. He is the offensive coordinator. Both Prime Prep and not TC-Cedar Hill pulled athletes from all over the country by pitching that your boy will learn from a hall of fame athlete who also wants to teach young men about life and getting into college.

I am not sure why the school would get in trouble for recruiting except for its conference rules. TAPPS is a huge joke on that front anyway. San Antonio Cornerstone pulled out last year when 10 public school kids, mostly from Reagan, all flooded in at once. Prestonwoon Christian in Plano has also quickly built a football factory through recruiting.

Nothing beats Episcopal in Houston though. They had Marvin Wilson, Jaylen Waddle, and Walker Little all on the same squad.

He got it very early in his coaching career. His first 3-4 years he had an unbelievably good record against top 25 teams including a half dozen or so wins against top 10 teams. Then he started losing basically every big game they played in and it became a mocking one.

Some of these private schools do recruit, especially the other league that the Jesuits, ESD's, and St Marks play in. TAPPS really doesn't seem to have as big of an issue, but perhaps at the 6A Prestonwood level it does. Which is why TCCH stood out like a sore thumb when a nationally rated 6'9" top 100 prospect from Louisiana shows up to play basketball the year Deion shows up. The kid is at Tech now.

Our coaches former coach at Naaman Forest is over at Prestonwood, who told our coach he always thought private schools recruited the most. Said it's nothing to what the public schools are doing.

Yeah, I think I am influenced by TCA parents. I have talked to several who have noted how lopsided the conference games have become as focused sports programs like Prestonwood are re-loading with brand news kids moving into the school every year for sports. Lots of times it is brand new seniors floating in. TAPPS is doing its part to crack down though, which is why TC-Cedar Hill bolted as did Cornerstone.

Interestingly, Parish beat Deion's squad on ESPN to start the year so the recruiting is only getting them so far . . it is no Bishop Gorman.

Are you guys in TCA Addison? Our son's basketball team scrimmaged them at TCA last week. You guys have a great basketball coach there, someone our coach knows and respects quite a bit. You can easily tell in basketball which schools are developing their kids from youth to high school, and which ones have new superstars pop in every season.

At LCA, we have a kid from Haiti who didn't even know how to play basketball when he got here. The family, our friends, adopted him, and yet TAPPS made them go through incredible legal battles to allow him to start playing varsity his sophomore year. Shocking when before that everyone knew that Prestonwood would land some huge kid from Nigeria, his parents don't live here, and someone at Prestonwood is paying his tuition. Think now that TAPPS clamped down on that, it's really changed the landscape which is good.

No . .just live near a few TCA families and talk football when we are all mowing lawns at the same time. Great school though and a great group of parents.
